We stayed for 2 nights over Memorial weekend with a $189 room rate. Thank goodness I had a coupon for a free night stay. The room needed updating and the bed was hard as a rock. The staff was friendly and they have complimentary internet access on the lobby level which was a pleasant surprise. I would only recommend this hotel if you are attending the Convention Center across the street.

My husband and I stayed at the Renaissance Fort Lauderdale May 12 for one night before a cruise. We arrived around 9:00 p.m. after traveling all day. When we approached the front desk, a wonderful lady named Terry asked if she could help us. She had been waiting for us ,her last Marriott Rewards members to check in for the evening. She was wonderful. She gave a 2 complimentary coupons for a drink in the bar and our room keys. The rooms are very nice. We had a great view of Port Everglades . The bathrooms are quite large and nice ammenities also. We ate that evening in the bar and had a drink. The pool area is absolutely beautiful. They have half clam shell cabanas all around the pool. It is a nice place to sit and have a drink in the late evenings. The next morning, we ate breakfast at Bistro 17. Do not leave without having the raspberry ricotta pancakes with pine nuts. They are to die for. We always stay at the Renaissance before the cruise and will continue to do so.

Stayed at Renaissance after a cruise on the Star Pincess. It would be near impossible to find a quality hotel much closer to Port Everglades! Although there is no free shuttle, cab fare is minimal due to proximity to the port (and close to FLL airport). Beautiful hotel with large rooms; bathroom amenities are very nice. The hotel has a lovely pool area and a morning Starbucks cafe. As stated in other reviews, the walls are very thin but that did not take away from our experience here. Staff was also helpful when I requested a room change and use of a different credit card. Their business center with free Internet access capped off our pleasant stay. The fifty-cent Sun Trolley also stops close by to take you up to the beach area.

We had an excellent experience in this hotel.

I am very particular when it comes to cleanliness in a hotel.
This room was clean, tastefully decorated with a super comfortable king bed. I felt at ease and relaxed immediately. The sample size tolietries were quality products that smelled wonderful.

Check in was fast with friendly service. The front desk clerk, seemed to really enjoy her job.

The initial room keys we were given did not open our door. So, when I returned to the front desk, the clerk's exact words were, "We are very sorry for the inconvience. Please have breakfast tomorrow in the restaraunt. Our compliments."
To me it really wasn't a big deal since we were in our room within 10 minutes of check-in, but I was impressed that the hotel staff considered it below standard and compensated us with free breakfast.

The breakfast was excellent. Very tasting and satisfing (Egg White omlette especially)

The hotel is in a nice neighborhood. I felt comfortable to walk at night to the drug/convenience store and restaraunt.

Free internet was available in the business centre. This was a small room with 2 computers. I had no problem checking my email.

I would definately choose this hotel again.
