This hotel was recommended as a pre cruise hotel. I got a great bargain thru Hotwire on this hotel. Very pleasant staff, room was very comfortable. The location was great, we woke up early in the morning and walked to the bridge to watch the ships come in.

The room was clean and well supplied. There was plenty of room for our 6 pieces of luggage. The bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was typical for the class of hotel.

We did not dine in the restaurant or swim in the pool. We did however enjoy cocktails in the bar and met fellow cruisers who were sailing out the next day.

The hotel offers free internet in the lobby. There were 2 computers for use.

This hotel is within walking distance of many restaurants, drugstore, grocery store and liquor stores. Short ride to the airport and the cruise terminal. I would stay here again if I could find another great deal. $250+ a night is rather steep for our budget but priced accordingly to the area.

  • Liked — Pleasant staff, great location.
  • Tips/Secrets: — When I booked it was the only 4 star on Hotwire.

Upon entering the hotel, my first impression was, "What carpeting!" It's obvious it supposed to represent what someone thinks a Florida hotel carpet should look like. It was awful and permeates the hotel. As I checked in, there was nervous energy in the place as one cruise ship crowd after another hovered throughout the hotel. The hallways were noisy, and housekeeping started cleaning early in the morning, despite the late night crowds keeping us up. While the hotel is located on SE 17th Street, not far from A1A, the $15 extra parking fee per night seemed high for the area. There were also only two computers in the "business center" (set up in the lobby) which were always occupied. I don't think I would stay here again as the rooms didn't always seem that well-cleaned, and the entire place was dated.

Hotel is nicely located near many conveniences like Starbucks, Ensteins Bagels, Sub Shop, and Liquor and Grocery a short walk. Staff is efficient in all areas from Desk to Housekeeping and friendly and helpful. Bartender stayed late to accomodate our party! Doorman and Bellstaff quick and efficient. Front Desk staff and Housekeeping do their jobs well. Only drawbacks are it is paid parking at !5-20 per day common in the error..think self parking should be less and internet costs for high speed are dated as in most locations it is complimentary!

Left orlando & drove to f/lau what a drive this was just after the bad hurracanes of 04 to be honest there wasn`t alot of damage, Any way arrived after 4/5 hours about 4pm on arrival we were met by captains & pilots in reception, wow what a hotel beautiful, the pool & spa was amazing not huge but good sized, the service was 1st class & staff bent over back wards to please, the veiws are amazing looking onto the opening bridge then the port what an exciting rush we got seeing the ship which was taking us to the bahamas the next day. This has to be the best place to stay for the port & a 5/10 minute drive to the beautiful f/lau beach. Written by jason cassar of lincolnshire england.

We have stayed at many a Hotel when we cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale the night before our ship leaves. The rates have really gone up in the last 10 years at the hotels surrounding the Port. We have had hit and miss experiences until the Renaissane. Ranked as Four Star it Has Received the Four Diamond Rating we found out when we arrived. The staff is superb (Terry at the front Desk and her husband Robert is a valet)...the room beautiful with Down comforters, pillows, and the bathroom was spotless. It is located just one mile from Port Everglades. There are views from the East Side toward the Port and the Water. We did not eat at the restaurant but it looked great. We wanted seafood and were directed to a restaurant called "Fish" right across the street...expensive and they do not know how to cook Fish. If you come out of the hotel onto 17th street, walk away from the bridge and one block down on the right is a Wonderful Bagel shop for Breakfast. Also in the same strip is an authentic Italian Deli/Restaurant serving lunches and dinner(wish we had found it the night before) We booked through Hotwire (Priceline would not even take a bid we submitted at $160, so we went to Hotwire)..that is how we found the Renaissance....we selected a price and we hit the jackpot. Our rate was $135. Now, perhaps you will not be as lucky as everyone knows it is random, but perhaps you could call and negotiate your rate. We will the next time as we know this is "thee" place to stay. Austin,Texas
