I just got home from vacation, and thinking about my wonderful stay that I enjoyed so much at this hotel, I was there for 8 nights and received top notch service each and everyday that I was there, Room service was polite and friendly each and everyday, bell staff were fantastic and jumped at every opportunity to help me weather it was finding directions or with just getting me a taxi to take me somewhere.... I have never enjoyed staying at a hotel so much, I really enjoyed the night life that Fort Lauderdale has, and enjoyed the fact that I could come back to the hotel and enjoy the wonderful friendliness of "Holice" at the front desk, this man absolutly goes above and beyond, he is well mannerd and has a fantastic personality, after the first couple nights there of stopping by the front desk for my snacks he would get them ready for me, just another way of showing me how much I meant to the hotel, there is so much to enjoy with staying at this hotel and I just wanted to take the opportunity to let everyone know that this is a "Do Not Miss" hotel... SUPERIOR IN EVERY WAY, I booked my room on priceline, and I am glad that this was the hotel I got to stay at as I just cannot say enough about how fantastic it was.....

One thing that I remember most of all, is that it didnt matter whom I ran across in the hotel, each person that you seen working there would always stop and say hello.

There were a couple of incidents that occurred that I wanted to outline to the management, I dropped my comment card off at the front desk letting them know of my stay, and to my surprise, the next day approx 12 noon I received a wonderful phone call to my room from Vic whom manages there, expressing his desire to take appropriate action, this is a service that is top notch in any hotel room, the incidents were moderate, I had a small run in with one of the night staff that was somewhat rude, as well as a couple housekeeping concerns, I am sure that had I have addressed them sooner the hotel would have taken immidiate action, but they were not something that I had to worry about, so I addressed them in my comment card the night before I departed my stay.

So, to all the staff at the Reaissance Fort Lauderdale, a HUGE Thank you for making my stay wonderful, you will be definately considerd in my future visits to Fort Lauderdale.

Thank you again!!

Peter Shields

All service was perfect. We lover Miami Beach and and the shopping malls in it.
The room was exquisitely decorated with fine details. My wife loved every furnish in the room and asked more details about it. The view remembers me Venece Italy with all the channels.
We will be back to get a great suntan.

Stayed here for a business conference booked by my employer. Check in service was superb. I arrived at midnight and exhausted from a transatlantic flight. Sensing my weariness, the cheerful Check In Agent (Mr. Hollis) was vvery welcoming and upgraded me to a nice room with a view of the ocean. The room was lovely and quiet and the bed was very comfortable. Maid service was excellent. High marks for service all around as the entire hotel staff was super friendly. Location is fine for a conference or for a short stay before or after a cruise (Port Everglades is two blocks away). This hotel is not near the beach so don't plan on walking to the beach. Free coffee in the lobby is a nice touch. Only weak point: bath linens were rather skimpy and un-plush. I expected better towels from a Renaissance hotel. My room rate was well under the rack rate and I would recommend that if you plan a stay at the Renaissance that you use the Trip Advisor rate search to find a good rate, or contact the hotel directly to get the best rate available. The economy in South Florida is really hurting, so it is possible to find bargains right now.

The hotel LOOKS good. The location is super TWO blocks from the docks as we were going the next day on a cruise, and the door staff and parking staff are polite, funny and excellent. Sadly, that all stops at the doors. The crew inside is mostly rude, unhelpful and doesn't seem to care at all what guests think. In most ways we got the impression the guests were just a nuisance to front desk, restaurant and other staffers. WiFi internet which we were told was free wasn't. Whining with staff they finally consented "maybe we misunderstood" and gave us ours free, BUT the speed was under 400k and stopped three or four times. A call to the desk brought "oh, you mean it's down?" No, folks, I called because I wanted someone to talk with...NOT! It came back again at about half the old speed and thus was useless to do last-minute e-mails before we boarded our ship.

There were some posters in the elevators advertising their breakfast buffet which was to include pancakes, so we opted to eat there. Upon arrival there was a sparse buffet and when we asked after starting for pancakes or a waffle were told "oh, that's not available". When we mentioned the ads, the manager said "REALLY? I never saw that!" and offered to get us pancakes at an additional charge.

Finally, not to be rude, but I have seen horses pee with better pressure than the water in our shower at this hotel. In fact, next day on the ship it was three times as good. This is unpardonable!

In short, great location and physical property, but staff needs total replacement ASAP.

Evidently under went remodeling recently and it shows! Great hotel! Heaven-sent bedding, large room, flat panel TV with working desk including all the business "hook-ups". Large window. Bar fridge only. No microwave. Coffee maker (4 cup flat filter type). Large closet and large safe. Great pool and hot tub outside. Comfy couches and law chairs line the area with palm trees for privacy. Nice bar area. Did not try restaurant but looks nice. Snack shop has much to be desired but Walgreens is across the street. Business area with internet acess and printer. Draw backs? The tub was slightly stained. Towels weren't as fluffy as one would expect. (Bathroom very room and nice however). Non-smoking hotel, however-smoking pointer>> If you go to the exit off of any floor at the end of one side of the building you will find a balcony area with ashtrays!! Yeah Marriott!! Also lovely comfy smoking areas outdoors on main level. Paring is pricey at $15 and $20 for valet. Convention center very close. Sky way to the beach within sight. Up scale dining and Starbucks within walking distance. Room service ends at 11pm
Great hotel for any event!!
