Great location for airport, stayed over one night on route overseas. Room was clean, comfortable and staff was very helpful. The evening concierge was the best...helpful, got our airline passes, gave us great suggestions for dinner and had a fabulous attitude. Only downfall was the taxi ride from the airport, both coming and going...could not wait to get out of those taxis...and this certainly had nothing to do with the hotel, other than they do not have a shuttle service.

I have stayed here many times over the years - especially when my industry trade shows are across the street at the Convention Center. This use to be a buinesss-oriented property that was a good choice for not overly price conscious business folks. Well, it been a few years for me, and I suppose the name change to Renaissance Fort Lauderdale "Cruise Port Hotel" should have been a tip-off. This hotel has total thrown itself at the cruise crowd that results in a very unsatisfactory experience for others. Loud, partying groups of cruisers roaming my floor and adjunct rooms kept me up till nearly 2am. There was a long wait to get into the breakfast restaurant. I understand these folks are vacation, but this 100% focus on them has ruined this. I will NEVER EVER stay here again and suggest unless you are cruise-bound you stay away also,

The Renaissance Ft. Lauderdale is a great choice for a pre or post cruise overnight. The front desk was extremely helpful (thanks Kelly). The rooms are spacious and the air conditioning is excellent. The beds are hard (not firm), and feel cheap. Pillows are rubber and uncomfortable. The bathrooms, furnishings, and TV are excellent. The hotel does not provide shuttle service to the airports or the cruise port. Parking is very expensive. Internet service is available in the lobby without charge, but wi-fi in your room is spendy. the location is great.

2nd time staying here, prior to catching a cruise ship. Very good location only blocks from Port Everglades, with lots of dining options and conveniences close by. Room was clean and comfortable with a view of the ships coming into port. Morning transfer to the ship is well organized at the back patio, and there's comfortable seating at the front of the hotel that even has ashtrays!! We did have a few cocktails in the lounge, friendly staff and lots of tvs to follow sports & news. All in all a good value and we would definitely stay there again prior to a cruise.
