Booked through priceline for 51 a night but really not worth it. Location is OK but hotel not the best. Wallpaper hanging off the wall. Was clean enough but very cheap feel to the whole experience there.

Arrived at this hotel after a brilliant cruise. It was the only place we could book, as all other places were fully booked by others off cruise ships. Now we know why. The place is quite scruffy and the staff could do with a few lessons in public relations. The room was at the very end of a long and grim corridor. The room itself was poor considering it was not cheap! The windows were filthy and the bed gave the impression it had been made up by the previous tenant. Not at all fresh. We went for dinner at around 8 pm and found the place closed up. On enquiring why it was closed the bloke on the desk said, without even looking up that it was supposed to stay open till 9 pm. So much for our dinner.. We found a place down the road that sold coffee and donuts. Apart from the beach we found it quite a sleazy area away from the beachfront.
As far as Holiday Inns go, this was pretty average. No, it's not really 3 stars, but we paid $65 all inclusive (except parking) on Priceline and thought it was a pretty good deal for beachfront property. I've heard of people getting $45-50 all-inclusive on Priceline.
The room was spacious and had all of your Holiday Inn standards...desk area, TV, etc. It was not the cleanest but not the dirtiest of Holiday Inns either. It didn't have a great pool, so if you have kids, you might want to reconsider, but my friend and I weren't concerned about that. We rented a car and parked it for $10 overnight. It's across from a tattoo parlour, but it's much less of a presence than what comes to mind when someone tells you there's a tatto parlour across the street, and we never saw any shady characters walking around. The front desk staff was extremely friendly.
Centrally located, it's a short (5-10 min.) drive from all of the restaurants on Las Olas and a straight shot down to 95-S to go to the Miami airport. It's a solid bet if you'd rather spend your money on things other than lodging. We spent the day at the Marriott Harbor Bay Spa down the street. At night, we ate at Chima and went to the main drag for drinks afterwards. All of this was very close to the hotel.
I booked this thru Priceline for a 1 night stay and paid $85 a night tax included and was rated 3 star by Priceline. It is over rated and over priced and should be a 0-1star if any. The wall paper in the bathroom was peeled off, and I discovered a blood sucking bed bug clinging on my t-shirt in the morning of which probably had bitten me. I checked out ASAP that morning, upset and feeling filthy and disgusted. The street traffic is extremely noisy of ambulances, motorcyles, etc... Parking is $10 a day in a dark ghetto area, I did not leave my room at night and therefore did not need to walk to the parking lot but is questionable even during daylight hours. I will never stay at this hotel again or book a hotel room thru Priceline again.
If you want a reasonable deal that allows you to walk across the street to the beach and don't mind a very tired hotel, this is your place. Otherwise, spend time looking for small, cute motels instead with a little more walk to the beach.
I was frustrated on arrival, getting in late at night. The sign hard to see from the road as it's way up high. Fortunately I know my way around Fort Lauderdale. Staff was friendly enough, they even have a concierge, and the room had a great view of the beach but the rest is pretty poor. This hotel is old and needs to be refurbished on all levels.
In the spirit of a full description, the room is good size and the closet area is oddly large but the bathroom is really small. The beds were adequate but frankly I felt a little scuzzy. Carpet, linens walls furniture. TIRED. Bathroom while clean is old and stained. The elevator needs work too.
There is a bar and small restaurant here. Fine for a drink, but go elsewhere to eat. There is also a small pool which was always busy and as I mentioned, you are right across from the beach. Location is great for getting to beach, shopping, restaurants and many of the areas attractions.
This has great potential but my recommendation is stay somewhere else.
