I just stayed 4 nights there at the Holiday Inn Fort Lauderdale Beach (Nov. 3 - 6) and overall enjoyed it very much. The view from the room was excellent, but as some have mentioned, the night traffic and noise is a bit bothersome. I found the front desk staff very helpful and kind. Also, the hostess (British lady) in the restaurant was wonderful, telling me about the waterbus service which was a great way to see parts of Fort Lauderdale that I might not have seen. And the parking lot attendant was very kind and protective of me since I was traveling alone. The room was a bit musty smelling and in need of repair, but I got a very good rate through Priceline and felt that I got a good value for the money. The bed got "lumpy" through the night (bed sheets were not tucked well), but was comfortable to sleep. The beach across the street was very convenient. The only thing better would be to be directly on the beach (like the Best Western Pelican). I also enjoyed the nearby restaurants and shops and you can walk easily to Galleria. I would definitely return to this Holiday Inn. They were in the middle of remodeling while I was there, so it should be even better in the near future.
