I was suppose to stay at the Ocean Sky Resort across the street and when i arrived the cost had almost doubled from what booked, they said they had the right to raise the price due to the demands of the room.. So i went across the stree to Sunrise Inn, it is a small apartment/Inn that was so safe, peaceful and clean. I was worried coming from Ohio, about all the horror bug stories i hear.. this room had a fridge/stove and microwave.. was all white, with tile floors very comfy beds and nice decor.. Also outside the room was a beautiful waterfountain and patio with tropical setting and a heated pool which the kids loved at night. In the mornig you went upstairs and a lady made you free breakfast of ceral or muffin or bagals.. my daughter loved the soft huge bagels. They were very friendly.. definalty will stay there again. and the price was on 79- for the night we stayed two night that was half of the previous hotel..

“Expect what you paid for.”

My boyfriend and I decided to take a four day trip to Florida. I booked the hotel after finding a deal on Expedia. We were not renting
a car so I wanted everything close to amenities and especially the beach. The hotel definately accomodated that with its location. However, the hotel building itself is really showing it's age.
Much to our dissapointment the pool was closed for our stay. However when we went to check the pool area out anyway, we noticed our backyard was bigger! They have jammed a pool into a small lot with buildings and alleys behind it and it wouldn't have been very relaxing.

The room was a bit musty and the windows! Couldn't believe it, it was like plexi glass caulked into a hole in the wall. You could hear everything from the outside and the window was so cloudy it obstructed the beautiful view.

Our second night there we noticed a barage of teenagers coming to the
hotel. We were informed an "after prom" was being held at the hotel. I spoke with desk staff and was assured that the after prom was only on the third floor. [----]. By 300 am my boyfriend had to step out in
the hall and tell the kids to quiet down because the one female security gaurd on duty couldn't handle the crowd. They settled
down around 500am!

No apologizies or compensation was offered by the hotel for this!
My boyfriend and I are easy going people, we still had an amazing time and spent as little time as possible at the hotel. It was basically a place to change, shower and sleep(except the nite of after prom!) We got what we paid for! So if you don't need the ammenities of a four or five star hotel, this one will do.

“No longer a Holiday Inn”

Sunrise Beach Inn

May 23, 2007

This hotel is undergoing a renovation (there was a very visible work crew in the front of the hotel) and is currently called the Sunrise Beach Inn. It is no longer affiliated with the Holiday Inn brand of hotel properties.

It may be part of the trend across A1A on Fort Lauderdale Beach to go upscale since the W, Trump, St. Regis and Hilton are all among the recent changes to the landscape. This property is located at the corner of Sunrise Boulevard and A1A.

Entrance was limited to the back of the hotel through the pool area. The restaurant was closed, too. Not many guests, either, so maybe the property halted reservations until the assumed transformation. It was a unique experience, nonetheless.

The staff was small but very cordial. The location is terrific and the price was well worth it.

“decent room, great location”

Sunrise Beach Inn

I have been to Fort Lauderdale several times before, but never stayed at this Holiday Inn. I chose the location because it was on the beach, but away from the Spring Breakers down by Las Olas. The first room we went too was dirty, dusty, furniture had been moved around, and had not been cleaned in a while. I called down to the front desk and within 5 minutes a gentleman came upstairs to apologize and give us new room keys to a new clean room. This second room was spotless and even had a big closet which two girls definitely need. lol
The staff was friendly, the hotel was decent, but the walls were paper thin and we could hear a whole conversation in the next room. The kids on Spring Break brought on a security guard in the lobby at night. They were VERY loud and even brought with them their own noise makers! The restaurant was fine, and not too expensive as someone else had commented on. $9.95 for parking per night was a little high for a parking garage that was out back of the hotel, and also open to public parking. And we were told that the hotel will be starting it's renovations this fall. It definitely needs it!
Overall, I would stay there again, as it is right across the beach, and a great location. And as prices seem to be escalating there, this hotel is still affordable for where it is and what it is.

“More than expected!”

Sunrise Beach Inn

For $80 a night, this place far exceeded our expectations for being on the beach.

We found out that all rooms with 2 queen beds are the renovated ones. Since that what we had, it turned out to be clean overall, and was kept up well by the maid. The beds were firm and relatively comfortable. We stayed for a week the end of February, and it was quiet the entire time on the 10th floor. Since we were out and about most of the time, good access to the beaches and FL during the day and a good night sleep were most important to us, and that's what we got. Management let us check in extra early, and we never had any additional issues.
