Description: mojo has food, spiritual and sexual connotations and after one visit, you too can attest to the fact that the restaurant is quite aptly named. Chef owned and operated, Domenick Falcione has not only created an inviting space to go with his creative food but his second passion, abstract art, allows visitors to experience his work between bites. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, full service bar with signature martinis, a botiquey wine list and specials that change daily keep both new and returning costumers excited.

“Bad Experience”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2014

Based upon the good reviews, I tried this restaurant on Valentines. Big Mistake.
We made a reservation 2 weeks in advance. The day before, we were called by a representative of Mojo and INSTRUCTED to arrive promptly at our time as each diner was to only have 1 1/2 hours and the restaurant was very busy. We arrived 5 minutes early and the man at the desk was irritated that we were early. We checked in and waited at the bar. Over the next 45 minutes, we watch as individuals that were recognized by the Maitre D greeted individuals known to him (? regulars) who arrived and were promptly seated without a reservation.

On two occasions, a waiter note us waiting and asked if we had been checked in. Apparently were had not been. A conversation then took place with the Maitre D but given that the situation was repeated at least twice, I am not sure if we were ever checked in.

The final straw was when yet another regular type (no reservation) came in with three others and asked the bar tender to move us off our chairs as she wanted to eat there with her buddies.

Maybe this is a good place to eat on an off night or as a resident, but there many other restaurants in the area which I would recommend to visitors to South Florida

“Good Vibe, Great Food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2014 via mobile

What a great spot! This place has a great decor, and had overall good vibe from the moment we walked in. Our server was very personable and attentive and very knowledgable of the menu. There are very interesting choices on the menu. We chose the mojo house salad to start. We then had the ginger glazed salmon and a sole special. The salmon was perfectly prepared and was delicious, as were the vegetables it was served with. The sole was fabulous as well. The desserts sounded fabulous, but we were pretty full so we passed on getting one. This place is a real find and we both can't wait to go back and try other dishes. This is a must eat at place!!

“Excellent Exchange”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2014

Referred here by friends…glad we gave this place a try. The beet salad and escargot both excellent. The half portion of the salad is generous enough to wet your whistle and still have room for and appetizer and their bread with EVOO…Hubby order the ginger salmon which was delicious and I order the chicken parmesan but exchanged the pasta for spinach…again delicious. Because we were seated before 6:30 our entrees came with the 1/2 salad or soup and dessert. Too bad they 86'd the coconut sorbet as I would have opted for that but the key lime pie was a perfect substitution!! The ambiance is light and airy and the guitar musician played the perfect mix of jazzy classics including Happy Birthday to my husband. Would have give this place 5 stars but the influx of patrons slowed down our service which Sean was very apologetic, but the hostess should coordinate with the servers so they are not caught in the weeds. Sometimes when there is a short wait it is for good reason. This place has a great bar to which anyone waiting can obtain a cocktail….we will definitely return.

“Get Some Mojo (Their Slogan, Not Mine...)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2014

I thought Mojo was another Mexican restaurant along Ft. Lauderdale's Federal Highway. I wasn't prepared for the sophisticated decor of the restaurant and the equally sophisticated menu, which was most definitely not Mexican (and no disrespect to lovers of Mexican food). Mojo's Asian-influenced cuisine was a lovely surprise. My friends shared a barratta, soft mozzarella cheese over prosciutto ham, with fig jelly, all meant to be spread on crunchy toasted sourdough bread. Yum! My partner and I had a big bowl of fresh mussels in a terrifically garlic-tinged marinara sauce. Yum #2! My entree of a 10 oz. pork chop, cooked to perfection with what I believe was hoisin sauce, was excellent, with fried sweet potato jalapeno pepper balls and crunchy green beans with more garlic. Other entrees at the table were a delicious salmon, a lovely duck breast, and an herb roasted chicken with creamy mashed potatoes (and bits of chives) that won a big thumbs up from the table.

One of our teo dessert, an apple ricotta pound cake, with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream, was a home run, while the flourless chocolate torte, though made with delicious dark chocolate, got a mild response because it was not really a torte, more like a mousse. Potato/potah-to.

Mojo also features half price bottles of wine on Thursdays, so our pinot was not only fragrant and eminently drinkable, but it was a good deal. Our service was quite good, courtesy of Jasmine, and the owner and host, Anthony, pleasant and enthusiastic about what he has done with his restaurant, as well he should be.

“Great meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2014

We had a wonderful dinner at Mojo. I was worried it was too fancy to take a toddler, but no one seemed to mind. I highly recommend starting with a coconut caipirinha -- delicious! I had the beet salad and orange/ginger-glazed salmon and loved every bite. Service was attentive, and atmosphere was sophisticated.
