Though Micheles has always been somewhat of a favorite of ours, last night was an exception. We took advantage of their 2-for-1 entree special on Tuesdays and were eager with anticipation for another classic Micheles evening out.
However, our party of 6 was universally disappointed not only in the food but in the service. Our waiter was inattentive and sloppy in his execution and long periods of time lapsed between his visits to our table. Sadly, all of us ordered the prime rib, a nice addition to the 2-4-1 menu, but no one was satisfied. The meat cut was inferior though the chef did deliver a relatively perfect medium rare.
And, as is often customary, we were charged a flat 18% gratuity automatically added to the check. Honestly, our wait service was worth less than half that and there was open discussion about the practice of automatically adding a gratuity and its potential effect on reducing the quality of the service.
We will return because we have enjoyed several good experiences at Micheles, but this was decidedly not one of them. I reluctantly give them an "average" rating because of their past performances, but if I was to judge this one experience as a stand alone it would have to be somewhere between "poor" and "terrible". Sorry, guys. For that kind of money you'll need to do a heck of a lot better.

We're sorry you had a bad experience and would've gladly removed the gratuity if you felt the service didn't warrant it. We invite you to come try us one more time so we may prove ourselves to you once again. Ask for any manager on duty including myself and mention Trip Advisor so that we may speak with you personally!
