“Convenient location and superb and friendly staff, modern and tasteful rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

We checked out from our Cruise with Royal Caribbean at 7am and went to store our luggage so we could go explore until our check-in time of 3pm and the gentleman who checked us in was very accomodating and gave us our room for check-in early and did not charge us additional for it. We did not even ask him we just expected that we would wait unitl 3pm. He was very friendly and accommodating. We were so thankful because we could stay in one place and enjoy their swimming pool, and restaurant which was superb. We ate breakfast and dinner at the restaurant. We would definitely stay here again due to the great service and exceptional staff. The location was very convenient very close to the ship port and very short trip to the Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood airport with free, friendly shuttle service. Thank you!

Room Tip: The room we had was on the top floor and it was nice because we did not hear anyone upstairs! The ro...

A lovely, modern hotel for a great stay before or after a cruise. Two minute from the port and also Fort Lauderdale airport. Friendly staff at reception and bar. Breakfasts a must - their speciality but dinner very good also and bar staff brought food and drink to us directly to the pool area. Rooms very clean and spacious (I was platinum club but I expect all rooms to be of a high standard). Courtesy bus available from Fort Lauderdale Airport and also a shuttle bus for a
small charge to the port. The hotel staff also arranged the shuttle bus to take us to the water taxi and down to Miami for the day. There is a Hertz car rental beside the hotel which was handy for us after our cruise. A couple if nights max probaby enough as not a lot in this district. We stayed three prior to the cruise which was a bit much and one after our holiday so we could be close to the airport. We did eat at Anthony's stone fired pizza restaurant one night which was a 5 minute walk from the hotel and highly recommended.

Great hotel, i stayed here before and after my cruise and eventually stayed even longer as i could not fly to New York, good service, staff were brilliant especially Melinda always made you feel welcomed and brightened up your day. If you need shops there are a few just up the road. I would recommend this hotel for comfort and hospitality.

We booked this hotel because it was close to the airport and offered free shuttle. Check-in was super fast, room was clean and very nice for a 3.5* hotel!!! We called the hotel after we picked up our luggage and the shuttle was there in 5 minutes! very impressive. The pool is nice. You will love this hotel!!!

We booked this hotel because we had an early flight & we wanted to be near the airport, and also chose this hotel because of the free shuttle. When we arrived, there were two ladies at the front desk, out of uniform, and with no nametags. They were talking amongst themselves & treated us like we were bothering them. The lobby is small with no areas to relax or unwind. The room that was assigned to us smelled so bad, like a musty smell. The room was very small and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in awhile. The pool area on the 5th floor had kids running everywhere and it made for a unpleasant experience. We spoke to Melodee at the reception desk & she said there was nothing we could do about it. She seemed obviously too busy to deal with our complaint. The restaurant was fine, we had a light dinner. The shuttle to the airport the next morning was adequate, at least it was on time.

Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone simply because it seems they do not care about their guests at all. The maids obviously need to work on their cleaning skills and the reception staff simply dont care.
Overall, our experience was very bad & the service was worse.

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. Our guests feedback is extremely important to us! Although no one likes to hear of a guest experience such as yours I appreciate the opportunity it presents to do a better job moving forward. The biggest problem with this hotel, aside from the decaying bathroom fixtures, is the lack of customer care.
I contacted Crowne Plaza customer service regarding the terrible condition of our room immediately following our stay, after getting nowhere with management at the hotel, and have yet to hear back months later. I even took the post-stay survey they sent me, again detailing all of the issues, with no response. Here's the scoop on the hotel:
There are pictures attached to this posting that show the condition of the room.
In addition to that, there were also stains in bright yellow on the shower walls. Like somebody went coloring with a highlighter all over the place. Just to check, I scrubbed the heck out of one of them and after a few minutes of serious elbow grease, was able to get it to fade substantially. This tells me that housekeeping made no effort at all to remove them. That's terrible.
Also, the handle to the shower door was literally falling apart to the touch. Chunks fell off literally every time it was touched. I informed the front desk of this, and nothing was done for my entire stay. See pic.
The hotel is very close to the FLL airport and Port Everglades, which would make it convenient for those in on business or about to take a cruise. Access to the hotel is a bit tricky as you really can't see the entrance to the parking garage and it it immediately after an intersection. There is also no left turn out of the garage, so getting back to Federal Highway 1 (the main road) requires going up the street and making a U-turn.
Our room was OK, a bit on the small side, but manageable. Nice modern-ish decor with a small LCD TV. The TV does not get HD programming though, so of course, the standard definition channels look terrible on it. I don't know why the lower-mid range chains spend money on the flat screens and then send lousy pictures to them.
The area is quite industrial, so if you want a room with a view, this is not the place.
There is a tiny pool that was not clean on our stay. A lot of debris/leaves at the bottom for the duration. As I said, it's an industrial area, so there aren't exactly a ton of trees around to dump leaves, which again leads me to believe it is not cleaned daily. Or perhaps weekly.
The lobby is very tiny, right off the parking garage on the lowest level, but clean and modern. You are required to pay daily for valet or self parking. There is nowhere nearby to park your car otherwise. Neither option was cheap, but I remember laughing when the guy told me the price to valet.
They do have a small fitness room, a convenience store, and restaurant that was literally always empty when I walked by.
All in all, I wouldn't stay here again. And I wouldn't advise anybody else to. Just overall lack of concern from the staff, all the way to corporate is enough to turn me off.

Room Tip: There isn't really a view of anything but airport and industrial areas, so go for an upper level...
