We were a bit tired from snow delays, the parking lot was full, so It seemed like a good sign. I had booked a week at Lucaya Resort, Freeport, Grand Bahama Island, through Ramada time share offer. Originally, they had offered me a free cruise from Florida to Bahamas (overnight) with 7 nights in Florida at the Ramada. I decided to book a full week at the Lucaya, all inclusive. We ended up buying a timeshare after the nightmarish night at the Ramada, seriously no thanks to Ramada but they sold our referral through telemarketing to the timeshare and did profit from us. Wendy greeted us at the Ramada and directed me to pick up our hotel vouchers at the “Welcome Center” I had phoned earlier to find out what we should do if the snow detained us. They were not overly concerned and brushed me off the phone. They could have mailed them in advance. We did arrive in time but no one offered ANY suggestions as to what to do during our stay, other than, for the third time telling their office they messed up my hotel reservations. Ramada was to be one night only. I had upgraded to the Hilton Double tree, that review to follow. Let me tell you, if my sister had gone there she would have gone into anaphylactic shock. At every 8 feet once we got of the elevator, they had automatic air fresheners that was so putrid and sickening. The room itself, two double beds, 2 inch deep dust all around the head of the baseboards, on the over treated, disgusting carpets. For some reason they were using a floor buffer on the carpet when we were checking out at 8am the next day. This was offered for free, would have been more pleasurable sleeping in the car rental, without all the toxic air pumping in our room. Don’t think I have ever seen anything as horrid and I have travelled to third world countries. It stinks, food is only OK. Wendy runs the show from what I saw and does a great job of getting people in and out for that I give them 5 stars for hiring good staff. 0 stars for EVERYTHING else about this place. Stay away, if you are going to go to see a time share, phone the time share not a third party.
