I am stayed here for business and did not really use their amenities but still had to pay for their "resort fee" which in now $11/day. Since I had a car that was their reason for having to pay. Also, this place is not really a resort and they should not advertise their motel as one! Luckily I got this stay on Priceline for a very low rate.

We stayed here 2 nights with a Time Share package that included a 3 day, 2 night cruise to Nassau and a 2 night stay in Orlando. I will review the stay a the Ramada Resort in Fort Lauderdale.

We arrived at the Hotel approximately 9:30 pm and per our package, we needed to check in at the Welcome Center at the hotel to receive our vouchers for the hotel stay, food and the cruise. We were told that the Restaurant in the hotel closed at 10pm and we better go there before it closed. We hurried along the walkway to the Restaurant to eat. The vouchers were good for the buffet only. The food was typical buffet food so don't get your hopes up for a quality Resort restaurant menu. We received our tab and I thought our vouchers covered everything. We had to pay for the tip and taxes based upon the amount the meal would have cost. The cost was surely inflated along with the tip percentage because I have a tough time believing that meal for 2 was $50.

We stayed in room 521, not sure if the carpet in the room was recently cleaned but the carpet was a bit damp. The bathroom had a new tub enclosure with a new shower head which was very nice however the toilet was the old 5 gallon tank that took some time to fill in order for the next person to use. Other than that the room was no more special than a room at a low budget hotel.

The next morning we ate at the restaurant and they had all the breakfast favorites and then some. Again had to pay tip and tax on an inflated buffet price.

There is a CVS at the corner which is walking distance which is very convenient.

After breakfast we headed out to the timeshare meeting. We were there 2 hours but had heard horror stories of couples staying 5 plus hours. While we were in Weston FL for the timeshare presentation , we booked an air boat tour in the everglades. There is a 2 for 1 ticket available at the welcome center. The tour was fun and the tour guide was informative.

We returned to the hotel for dinner and sat with a couple that told us about the lunch vouchers. The lunch vouchers are good up to a certain dollar amount and if your meal goes over that set dollar amount you will have to pay the balance. So you might want to check on the dollar amount before ordering from the lunch menu at the restaurant.

Upon check out we read the bill as everyone has suggested. The resort surcharge is over $8 and yes each day you are charged for the safe in your room plus tax and a charity charge plus tax for both nights. The line was out the front door to complain about those charges and if it wasn't for the fact we needed to get to the port we would have complained also.

The staff at the front desk and the restaurant staff we encountered were very pleasant and helpful.

I will not be staying at this Ramada again or even recommending this timeshare package to any of my friends.

If you are looking for luxury, don't stay here. We stayed for four nites, took a three day cruise and came back for one more night. We asked for the same room because we lucked out on the room we got as far as space and amenities. The carpets were not swept every day. The blanket on the bed had holes in it and were very thin. I asked for another blanket which they brought right away and it too had holes in it. We had a kitchen. Electric cook top and very small refrigerator. Kitchen sink, microwave and coffee pot. But there were no utensils or anything so we couldn't use it unless we went out and bought the stuff and that wasn't an option. The TV worked but you couldn't buy any movies on it that part was broken. The restaurant food left a lot to be desired. Same old food.... Don't eat lunch there. The menu is very limited and the hamburgers are cooked till they are dead. The service at the restaurant was terrible. You could never find your waiter when you needed them. The best part was that room 435 was big and next to the rear elevator which took you to the rear entrance so you could park out back and use the back door. But sometimes you key wouln't open the back door. The pool was heated and clean and the hot tub was very hot. You would expect this hotel to be on the cheap side. It wasn't. Look out for the items on your bill where they charge you for the safe even if you didn't use it. And have the gall to charge you $1.00 a day Charitable Contribution Fee. I'd like to know who that charity was. I complained and they removed it. I heard other people at the desk complaining and they removed theirs also. You have to check you bill closely.

We had won 2 free nights here and after reading some reviews I was nervous to stay here. My boyfriend and I decided to check it out before actually checking in. We walked through and everything looked nice. So we checked in later that day. Our first visit was to the Tiki Bar and the Bartender was great. She gave us info on the area and nightlife, not to mention made delicious drinks. The pool and hottub area was nice and the whole atmosphere was relaxing. The room was very very nice and can't complain about anything there. We actually ate at J & D's Sports Bar at the hotel and it was delicious. Very reasonably priced and we enjoyed a couple games of darts, pool, and basketball while we waited for our food. I loved how we could charge stuff to our room and not worry about carrying around money. This hotel was quite refreshing and we really enjoyed our stay, we will definitely return, because we actually got 2 more free certificates + 150 dollars towards another stay. The only bad thing was the fact that we had to take some tour through the welcome center with the weston and it was suppossed only last 2.5 hours and it took 4, so avoid that at all costs. Other than that we recommend this place!

We were very worried about staying at the hotel after reading the reviews. We decided that we would give it a try. We did not expect much for $55/night.

ALL the staff, except one, were HORRIBLE. They offered no customer service and were very rude. As we ventured out we found it was the norm for Ft. Lauderdale staff. You eventually get used to it.

One of the elevators was out of service for the two weeks we were there, but at least one worked. We loved the pool area. Very relaxing.

The bathwater was discolored, but every time I have stayed anywhere in Ft. Lauderdale the bathwater was the same.

My biggest complaint was the additional $5 resort fee that is added. I came home and went thru all my paperwork. It was not mentioned anywhere.
