“Great clean room with friendly staff.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2013 via mobile

Great location, clean room. Pool which we did not use but was beautiful courtyard. Only one small complaint is they did not get coffee going at 8:00 as promised. No problem for me but my husband is a major coffee drinker. Overall excellent stay. Would definitely stay again.

Nice little resort with a lot of international clientele and right across the street from the W, if you're interested in mixing with the nearby hotel guests. Fine for boat show attendees.

One block from the beach.

Tired hotel furniture and kitchen furnishings; but serviceable if you prefer apartment-style accommodations.

Very limited office hours and poor wireless signal.

Room Tip: furthest away from W - it's noisy at night

The price is right, the location is great, and the staff was super friendly. We stayed 3 nights for a half marathon in the area. The rooms are okay, clean, and include a refrigerator. The location is walking distance to the beach and not far from the A1A restaurants and bars. The grounds and pool were very nice. Lastly, the staff was fantastic. We would stay here again.

We stayed here for 1 night during the boat show weekend. The ladies in the front office were very accommodating and sweet. I was not impressed 1 bit by the room itself. I liked the fact that we had a little balcony even though you have to share it with another room, and the separate living area from bedroom. I disliked that the blinds were missing pieces so someone could walk by and see right in, I had to rig a towel over the window so no one could see in. The bathroom did not have any ventilation so forget trying to blow dry your hair in the FL heat and there was hair in the drain which made me want to gag. Also, we have a larger truck and they did not have parking spots that could really accommodate us so we had to worry about getting a parking ticket. The W is right across the street so you can walk over for dinner or drinks. Ok hotel for families on a budget but I will not be staying here again.

Room Tip: We had the "penthouse" which isn't anything special. Wouldn't recommend paying mor...

My boyfriend and I stayed at The Shell to celebrate his birthday. Most of the surrounding hotels were booked up or way over priced due to the Ft Lauderdale Boat Show. It's in a great location. 3 min walk to the beach and other restaurants. Great way to get around is the ricksha. We loved our room #124. Top floor with a great balcony with an ocean view. It's as clean as can be for an older place. Bathrooms for sure outdated but that's the only bad thing I can think of. We will stay here again!

Reasonable prices, great location, 3 mins. walk to the beach, free wifi and digital TV (at least in our room 115, which also had a kitchenette), free parking, nice pool area, VERY friendly staff. They will make sure even late arrivals still get their keyes etc. We will for sure stay there again!

Old but nice hotel just few steps from the lovely beach. Close to restaurants and bars. Nice and clean. Great pool and patio with barbecue, snack and soda vending machines etc. Highly recommended for short or long stays !
