The Bonnet House Museum and Gardens are located on A-!-A, the coastal road along the beach. The Bonnet House is a member of the National Historic Trust and is a must see when visiting or living in Fort Lauderdale. Entering the Bonnet House grounds is leaving the City behind stepping into the history of one of the area's founding families. The grounds are thick with trees, bamboo, grasses, monkies and swans. There is an orchid house and outdoor classrooms for orchid culture, watercolor painting workshops, etc. The home is well preserved and tours are given at scheduled intervals. There are art exhibits throughout the year, jazz brunches and sometimes movies under the stars. The Bonnet House is truly one of the most special places in Fort Lauderdale and should be visited by all.
