“Not that bad!”

These reviews helped me alot. I happily payed a $20/night upgrade charge for a renovated Lanai room. I was given the option to pay $40 and stay in the tower.. but I figured a "newer" room would be more pleasant then an old one in the tower. The room was decent. I stayed for 2 nights and paid over $100 in extra fee's. The extra charges are a little ridiculous considering how un-resortlike this place is. Either way, I was expecting alot worse. I'm going to stay away from Priceline for awhile. This is a 3 star hotel at most.

I'm on the fence for this hotel. If I had not pricelined the rate and paid full price I would be rating this hotel much lower. Based on what I paid it was a fair price to stay here. This Hyatt falls short of what the public comes to expect from a Hyatt resort. The exterior is out dated, our room was not clean (trash behind the bathroom door on the floor tells me it was not swept before we arrived). On the good side, the staff was very nice and very helpful. The front check in was quick and our room was ready two hours early. The pool attendent was very nice and helpful as was the valet staff. The staff is by far the best thing this hotel has going for it. So the bottom line is....if you can get a good rate under $100, it's a fair place to stay on the waterway. Just don't pay full price and expect a "Hyatt" quality hotel...because you will be disappointed. Also, don't eat here....the food is extreamly high ($14.00 for french toast) and a can of soda from the mini bar is $3.00!!! NO JOKE! Don't forget that the "resort" fee of 12.00 per day is NOT included in your daily rate - even on priceline.

“Great pre-cruise hotel”

We stayed at the Hyatt the night before our cruise from Port Everglades. We (husband, and two children) were extremely happy with my choice. Our room was ground level overlooking the marina. The room was newly renovated, large with very comfortable bedding. Everything about it was nice. Yes, it is a bit expensive to eat/drink at the hotel, but it is a "Hyatt". We went across the street to the HESS store for beer, coffee, subs, etc. Big savings. The taxi from the airport to the hotel was about 14.00, and hotel to Port Everglades was about 10.00. As a travelagent, I'll definitely recommend this hotel to my clients for a pre-cruise stay.

we booked as part of wedding and asked for best room ,(parent bride)nearly 4 months out and assured that junior suite was best room..Room was 361 ..
Lots of little things wrong ..it doesn't have to be this bad ,,
,Either they intend to do major rehab or property in bad financial shape .
Furniture didn't match ,tv was newer flat screen ..a mass of cords ,tv cord was not plugged in /and didn't reach one outlet 5 plugs three unplugged not sure where others went ...,tv remote batteries we're missing finally after everything . still didn't work, was late no matter ,
Once had phone in bathroom ,phone was missing plate torn off ,no welcome letter,no guest comment card ,no do not distrub sign ,

patio was large but not stick furniture,,one phone on desk ,none on night stand only important when phone rang middle night ,no phone instructions on phone plate oh ,missing hand written with marker ,,light out in bathroom,,
missing anytype easy chair ,even tho room large ..asked front desk staff for razor ,desk clerk said didn't have anything ,have wait for gift shop open supervisior overheard and pulled out shoppping bag from drug store with items ..(remember Hyatt was ones that started "Did you forget program "and this is large hotel)My wife called twice and both times put on hold for 10 minutes both time s ,I put out pre ordered breakfast sign night before for 630 -7pm At 730pm i called desk to cancel since i was going to jump in shower ..Front desk said they would .. 7 :45 am ,sure enough while in shower room service called said sorry that they were late but didn't have grapefruit ,I informed
them thanks but had cancelled was told had to take it was ordered and he would have to pay for it ..Dripping wet i said no ,talk to front desk .

Good news location is pretty ,bell staff/valet was excellent ,restaurant was expensive 79.00 on person but okay ..
But very average no name motel not what Hyatt use to be and certainly not comparable to competitive set hotels ,marriot, hilton ,or even Holiday inns ..
Really it didn't have to be this bad ...

My main reason for choosing it was that it was right on the pier next to the scuba dive boat.

Had breakfast in one of the restaurants in the hotel. Omelette, toast & coffee were $18 with tip. Other meals were even more expensive.

Thankfully there was a convenience store across the street where I could buy snacks and sandwiches,

About a one mile walk or drive to restaurants and stores.

Nice place. At these prices it should be! Nothing spectacular
Would probably not go back. Not enough "bang" for the buck.
