We had not planned to stay at the Hyatt as we had booked in to the Bahia Mar but they had overbooked and transferred us to this hotel. Our first impression was of a very well run and nice looking hotel, the reception area is very welcoming. There was some confusion over our transfer but this was sorted out very quickly. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms are large and comfortable. One of the shutters at the window had come off it's track and the bed was not on it's base properly but within minutes of reporting these problems to reception someone had come along to sort them out.

There is a daily charge of $12 for using the amenities which we thought was overpriced, especially as we did not use any of them. Room service is expensive, our meal on the first evening was the most expensive meal during our week there so we steered clear of the hotel's restaurants. The bottles of water in the room that you can purchase are priced at $5 per bottle, brought a dozen at the supermarket for that price.

I would definitely recommend this hotel but be aware of the high cost of any extras.

I have always wanted to stay at this hotel and a cruise out of Fort Lauderdale was the perfect excuse. My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights pre-cruise. We were staying on Hyatt points but I contacted the hotel directly to insure decent accomodations. The hotel is still undergoing remodeling. The former rooftop restaurant is now for private events only. Grill 66; across the parking lot and on the intercoastal provides excellent food and service and very nice indoor and outdoor seating. While pricey, the food was worth it. Back to the hotel - pool area gorgeous. Nice outdoor lunch area and bar. The manager upgraded us to a Deluxe Lanai Room with a balcony overlooking the pool. These two story wings outside the main tower don't look like much from the outside but looks are deceiving. Once inside the rooms are remodeled and top notch. Beautiful furnishings and a flat panel TV are included. I would definitely pay extra for these rooms. To my knowledge the remodeling of the tower has been limited with new carpet and some paint pretty much covering it. Yes there are resort fees ($12.00 per room per night I believe), but this fee covers Internet and phone use. The parking is a bit pricey but your car is safe and secure. The proximity to the port is perfect and the staff is beyond friendly. I just called the hotel to reserve rooms for December and April for family members. In talking with the hotel I was told that they are beginning the remodel of the lobby and casual restaurant and same should be completed in short order. Great stay - highly recommended!

We stayed at this hotel one night, September 6, 2006. We had a morning flight and wanted to be close to the airport. We didn't have a tower room, it was more garden/marina. These rooms have an outdoor entry, which throws me back to a lesser type hotel, but we knew it was a Hyatt as soon as we got in our room. It had a modern flair with nice fluffy duvet bed coverings and flat screen TV. These rooms only come with a shower. One of our complaints was that they've re-wired the TVs so that you can't plug your own DVD player in and watch. You are a relegated to pay-per-view/their cable. I think what annoyed us the most was the mandatory $15/day resort fee, which didn't include parking - that was yet another charge. If it's going to be mandatory, they should just build that into the price of the room. That resort fees includes internet in your room, but you've got to have your own computer. The concierge was kind enough to let us check-in for our flights on his computer. All in all the accommodations were nice, but the extra fees were not.

What can I say. A very pleasant atmosphere. Friendly staff greet you on arrival and very fast service at reception. Clean, spacious room with a balcony and a lovely view of boats on the lake. Very large swimming pool with waterfall. Lots of sunbeds so no waiting around. Free towels to borrow. Excellent spa with jacuzzi, steam room and sauna in both male and female changing rooms. A well equipt gym with weights and cardio machines e.g. treadmill and bike. Stayed for a few days and really enjoyed it. Not too far from the beach and free shuttle service to the sister hotel on the beach every hour. I'm sure you will enjoy it too!

Visited for one night at this hotel when we decided, on the way to fly out of FLL, to stay one more night in South Florida. Coming from a week at the Loew's South Beach, and with a last minute booking, I wasn't expecting much from Pier 66. The gentleman at the front desk was very courteous and upgraded us, at no charge, to a wonderful room since the hotel was fairly quiet, and the bellman beat us to the room. The #--62 rooms have just amazing views - and ours in 1562 was fantastic. We had a corner, wrap-around balcony with views of the ocean and the extensive Intercoastal system with multi-million dollar houses and yachts. Our room was decorated in a current fashion and very clean, with plenty of towels and a large bathroom. Some complaints have arisen over the resort fee - the $12.00 fee included internet, which at most hotels begins at $9.95 anyway, so it really wasn't an issue to us. The pool area was nice, but not spectacular. The waterfalls could use a slight paint touch-up and the hot-tub wasn't very hot. All in all, it was a very nice property at a great value when we paid less than $150.00.
