We stayed in a corner executive king room over MLK weekend. This tower room as stated in previous postings is oversized, with a balcony that provides fantastic views.

That said, the balcony is v-shaped and is "shared" with the room next door to you. The balcony is divided in half between the rooms by a divider that you can easlily see over, so no privacy here is guaranteed.

The room itself, and I would assume all of the tower rooms, although kept spotlessly cleaned (the complimentary turn down service was terrific) and not at all musty, is in great need of upgrading as to the rugs, bedspreads, and upholstery. A lot of wear and tear is evident, and our carpet was stained.

The staff here is extremely outgoing and friendly, when we checked in, we were offered our choice of views, either the ocean or the marina/intracoastal waterway. We chose the waterway because it is more interesting to see the boating activity going on.

The location is just fine, if you have a rental car. That said, you are charged nightly for "self service parking." I got around it by "dropping off my wife" at the front door of the hotel, and "I just made a pickup" the following day. They must have a seperate company that owns the parking lot which includes restaurants and the marina. For the price you pay for rooms, parking should be gratis if you are self parking your car without valet service. One of the things I love about Las Vegas.

The revolving lounge at the top of the hotel is a blast. We had a great time with local friends there our first night. Las Olas is very close by which affords upscale shopping and restaurants.

The grounds were lovely and lush. The adjacent marina is a hoot for walking day or night, as avid powerboaters in the northeast, the mega yachts moored here make our cruiser look like a dinghy. No one seems to own anything under 80 feet in length! Walk down to the Buzzard's Nest at the end of the marina for outdoor drinks and lunch.

Overall, a good 3-4 star property in desperate need of a room decorating pick-me-up. It's above average but headed for only an average classification. If we are in this area in the future, more than likely, we'd stay at the Marriott Harbor Beach Hotel.

Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Hyatt Pier 66. We were given a room in the small 2-story building - Lanau. Recent reviews are correct. The room was extremely musty, ground floor with cement square for a patio overlooking the parking lot. We rejected it immediately and were upgraded to a beautiful room on the 10th floor of the tower. Late afternoon on Saturday, we could sit on the balcony and watch many cruise ships departing from a nearby port. The revolving bar at the top of the tower offers a neat experience and great view. No cover charge if you are staying at the Hyatt. The heated pool was very luxurious with lots of sun and no-sun spaces. The conceirge provided maps, brochures, menus and made dinner reservations for us. If you want to take a mini-cruise, I'd recommend the Sea Escape. It's about a 4 hour cruise, you can choose daytime or evening. We went during the day and enjoyed a buffet brunch, the casino, played bingo, watched a musical show, relaxed in the sun on the 3rd deck next to the pool, and went to a wine tasting all for about $40 each. There's also a 1-day cruise to the Bahamas but you need to have a passport or birth certificate. The hotel was about a 30 min. walk from the beach or you can take a water taxi. I'd recommend this hotel if you are going on a cruise and want to spend the night before or after the cruise. The port is only a 10 minute taxi ride away.

Stayed in two rooms close to the pool (not the tower rooms) and were woken up two nights in a row by people screaming and shouting by the pool (1am - 3am). Rooms were clean but dated and were a bit musty. Sliding door was hard to open and lock too. Trolleys rolling across the tiles was loud and woke us up in the morning.

We did have a nice breakfast in the restaurant each morning.
We had an infant with us and the first morning our server was fantastic, the second morning we had a grumpy old lady (90% of the servers are over 65....) who forgot to come back with coffee and orange juice.

It is a cab ride to downtown $12 or you can take a water taxi $5 for the day which was especially nice at night. The water taxi comes ever hour though

Very average hotel, far away from the action, I don't think I would go back.

This hotel (at least the rooms on the lower floors) is at best a 1 star. To charge that much for a musty room that wasn't clean is shameful. There are so many hotels in the world that they cannot afford to ignore cutomers and just say I'm sorry. Take a hint....some large airlines and corporations are going out of business because of poor customer service and charging for services that were not delivered. The Hyatt needs a reality check. I'll never stay in another one.

My husband and I have stayed at the Hyatt Pier 66 for the past 7 years during our annual trip to South Florida each March. For the first time last year, we stayed in a Tower Room and fell in love with it. We would definitely recommend this room. Our view overlooked the Atlantic Ocean, we could watch the cruise ships sail by from our balcony. The pool has a very casual and relaxing atmosphere with two waterfalls and poolside bar.
