I am a Toronto, Canada based lawyer and I travel extensively through the U.S. (and Canada) because of the type of practice I have (outsourcing and tecnhology counsel). I booked a family vacation for a week beginning June 27, 2008 at the Hyatt. Although I have been coming to Fort Laudredale for 15 years, I had never stayed at the Hyatt. I am Starwood-Platinum but, lately, the service at Starwood Properties was not as expected. SO, I went to Priceline and booked the Hyatt. I have to tell you that it was one of the best experiences we have had from a service perspective. I booked two rooms and upon arrival, we were given an early check-in in one room while our other room was being prepared. (And, since I only have Gold status at Hyatt, I was not really entitled to an earl check-in). Without getting too-long winded, I have to give Mariana Go (Hotel Manager) top marks for her staff. Everyone greeted us by name at the front desk and stoppd to talk to us or our children. In particular, Luis Navarro, Assistant Front Desk Manager, was truly outstanding. He always greeted us with a smile and took the time to make sure that we had everythign we needed. In fact, he arranged for a late check-out in one room - so that we could enjoy the pool during our last day (pending our evening flight). I travel a lot, as mentioned above, and I can't say eneough about this Hotel and this staff.
