Paying alittle more for a room than we would like, we booked our room through hotwire because it said "Great views" and "with-in walking distance of the ocean". (Only if you call a few miles "walking distance"!) We got views alright!! The first room they gave us was ground level and looking at bushes. Also it was a smoking room when we ask for a non-smoking room. The A/C roared so loud we thought a truck was running outside. After complaining and hoping for a refund to go else where, they said it wasn't possible because we booked through an internet site and we were prepaid. So to accomodate us, they moved us to the towers and gave us a free breakfast. This sounded GREAT! But our second room really wasn't any better. This view was roof tops covered in white rocks and 3 huge exhaust fans running full blast, filling our room with the smells of everything they were cooking! NICE! Then about 9PM the noise started. This floor was also equipped for seminars. They were setting up tables and chairs and getting things ready for the next day. The seminar crowd started arriving around 7AM. Loud music, loud doors and loud people. We asked them to hold it down, but that lasted about 5 mins. Parking was $20 a night. (if you parked your car yourself and more if you used valet) Water was $5 a bottle. Nothing was within walking distance. Only thing 5 star was the lobby and we didn't pay to sit in the lobby. We wanted a room with an ocean view!!

  • Liked — Lobby was pretty.
  • Disliked — The rooms view, couldn't walk to beach & pay to park.

I would not give this hotel a 4-5 star. Only 3 max. I stayed in the courtyard rooms. They were more like a hotel room. They ARE NOT interior doors. Rooms were average. I only paid 120 N, so at that price I can't complain. At prevailing rates (200 plus N. )not worth it. Front desk staff okay, nothing great. The little gal at the coffee bar in the am was very nice. Hotel was under construction, which was disruptive.

Lots of smokers at the pool which was very annoying. One word of warning: I have heard of hotels that DO NOT clean the glassware. I marked the glassware with a small piece of paper on the bottom of the glasses, to determine if the glasses were ever replaced with clean glasses. They were NEVER changed out. Imagine the filth/germs, especially from one guest to the next. This is not the only hotel I have discovered that does this. I WILL NEVER use the glasses again. Only the paper cups.

I booked this hotel in November and certainly had some concerns after reading reviews but our experience was terrific. Check in was smooth and pleasant. We had a room on the lowest level facing the pool and it was updated and in great shape. We had dinner at the Pelican Bar one night and the fish burrito is terrific and you can't beat the view. On Sat. night we ate at Grille 66 and it was one of the best dinners we have ever had. Pricey....but excellent. We had the filet migon, one baked potato we shared, the tomato/onion salad. Everything was superb. I used the hot tub which is huge and was very warm. Our visit was trouble free.

Stayed here on both ends of cruise(which was not within walking distance unless you like to walk over bridges and then walk 2 miles within the port area with trucks everywhere) and was wary of recent reviews. Was upgraded to tower like some people said with a view of the roof but also the water and bridge. Nice. First night was great but the desk could learn to smile and might try to be friendly. Room was fine and breakfast was great. Cab ride about 10 to port and 15 from airport. Second night was even better. Got there at 10am and was able to get room with a very nice female person at the desk. Pool area was great as well as the room which we stayed in the marina this time. They have a boarding pass computer in the lobby which was of great use. We were going to use the water taxi but after waiting twenty minutes past the scheduled time we gave up and went to the concierge and got a rentel car for the day. He worked quickly and got us a great deal. The bellman and valets were also very nice on both stays. Would stay here again!

Rooms have plenty of insects. Had a vehichle break-in that when security was contacted I waited over 30 minutes to show up, luckily my life was not in danger. Paid $ 20.00 for parking and on several occassions they had some functions going on and was told lot was full, sorry. They never offered to refund parking fee when it was brought up to front desk. This was my third year staying there and will be my last stay.
