We just returned from a week stay at the Palm Plaza and had a wonderful experience. The hotel, although, not the newest, was very clean and had beautiful gardens. The staff was very friendly and tried to please. They were quick to try to assist clients with their requests. It was very quiet and felt like a little tropical oasis. The very private pool was also a great experience. Also, the other guests were very friendly and positive about this hotel. THe onsight manager, Georgio, and the other staff members were very helpful and willing to assist your requests. Also, the price was very affordable and you would be hard pressed to find a hotel as good as this for the same rates. We would both recommend this hotel to others.

My partner and I stayed at the Palm Plaza Hotel last weekend and it turned out to be alot better than we expected. Since we are young and not able to afford many of the other gay resorts in the area, we decided to stay here. First and foremost, the gentleman who booked our room was extremely nice. He allowed us to stay in the largest suite for the same price of the mid-level room and on top of this, he gave us 25% off! The internet special was supposed to only be 20% off for this time of the year. He most likely did this to fill empty rooms. We only recall seeing about 2 or 3 groups of people staying there (which was actually nice because it allowed us to pretty much have the place to ourselves and have a relaxing vacation).

The resort is only a 10 minute walk from the beach (about 3-4 blocks) - not bad at all. It also lies right in the middle of almost everything including the gay beach and other gay resorts. We couldn't have been in a better location for the price. The only drawback we came across was that the rooms are poorly insulated, therefore during the daytime it would get very hot. The A/C came from 2 window units, one in the kitchen area/living room and the other in the bedroom. This wasn't a suprise considering the place is quite old. The room was extremely clean though. I would definately recommend this resort to anyone looking for a nice getaway, but close to entertainment.

Just back from a great week in Ft. Lauderdale and struck gold this trip. We go at least twice a year and gave the Palm Plaza a try this time, The entire stay was perfect from check in with our great host, beautiful room and LUSH surroundings. No detail was left out. Really looking forward to our next trip and many more to come and will always stay at the Palm Plaza. By far, one of the best values in Ft. Lauderdale.

This is actually my third stay at the Palm Plaza Resort. I have stayed at a couple other places like this one in the past, but found the Palm Plaza Resort to be the best accomodation for me. The people that I have met, that were staying here, were very friendly, no attitude and a lot of fun to hangout with during the days and nights.

It is definitely a place that you can get away too, feel totally at home, relax, and make some really great friends. When you enter the gates, you walk into a little tropical style oasis. Very green, with palm trees, hibiscus flowers...etc.

Georgios, the manager, is a very sweet guy. He works very hard to make sure that the guest feel exactly like that "A Guest". If there is any problem/concerns, he will do everything within his power to make it right for you.

I truly love the place and would recommend it to anyone that wants to meet really genuine people, feel like you are at home, and just want to get away for some fun and relaxation.

We just returned from Ft. Lauderdale this past weekend. Here's our take on this property...

The whole place is rather worn. The grounds are nice but really need some TLC from someone who knows how to care for tropical and semi-tropical plants. The room was spacious and mostly clean but really needed some work around the edges. The baseboards were old, painted multiple times and had wiring tacked around them and were grungy. The kitchenette in our room had ultra-cheap, laminated, press board cupboards and the light didn't work. They instead set up a living room torch light in the middle of the kitchen floor. The furniture was mismatched and some pieces should have been thrown out years ago. The bed was marginally comfortable; the A/C worked extremely well.

On our first night we had no hot water. I mentioned this to the proprietor who seemed surprised. It turned out they had run out of heating oil; they called and scheduled a delivery for the next day. I would think that checking oil levels would be apart of the regular maintenance routine and regular deliveries could be scheduled. After the oil delivery, when the water heater was fired up, the whole property stunk of exhaust fumes from their smoke stack. When I stepped out of the room and smelled it the first time, the foul odor almost knocked me over! This happened about 3 times while we were there.

The only ice machine was out of order and from the looks of things it had been out for some time. An ice machine should be considered essential and not optional. Had it been me, I would have it repaired or replaced immediately!

The pool is not cleaned as often or as well as it should be. I commented to my partner more than one time that I wished I knew where the supplies and chemicals were and I could show them how it should be done. It wasn't overly dirty or growing anything, it just could have been better tended to. The pool area was quite small and the pool itself had a very odd, raised lip around the edge, making getting into and out of the pool more difficult than it should be.

One morning they moved the lawn and pool furniture to water. After they were done no one stopped to reposition anything even though there were people waiting. Two employees passed several times and did nothing. Finally my partner & I repositioned the furniture ourselves so everyone could come out and relax poolside.

If this were Ft. Lauderdale's only option I would probably stay here again. However, there are numerous other properties in the immediate area, several of the same motel-type genre, and a couple in the same general price range. Because of that, I will probably not stay here again. There are other, better places to stay. One of which is The Dunes, where we have stayed before and will likely stay again.
