“What a great place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2012

This place really is a hidden gem. It's less than a block's walk to Fort Lauderdale Beach (with a lifeguard tower right there), has a lovely patio and pool of its own, has nice rooms and even nicer owners. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to one of their suites, which made our short stay a treat. Next time we are in Fort Lauderdale we will definitely be back!

Stayed here the first night of our honeymoon, on a layover on our way to Colombia. The rooms and property were super clean and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. What really puts this place ahead (besides the ridiculously fair prices) is the little details - baskets of sunscreen and other things you may have forgotten are out for guests to use. The pool is nice, as well. Certainly intended as more of a long-term stay place, it would be the best choice for anyone taking a week in Fort Lauderdale. We'll stay again without hesitation if fate takes us that way.

We booked this hotel for one night pre-cruise solely based on the trip advisor rating. I couldn't believe this little hotel could be number 1, but it truly was a gem. Quick check in, shown around the hotel and to our room by the friendly owner Matt. We stayed in room #9, which was perfect for the two of us. The continental breakfast in the morning was perfect for me and had a good variety (bagels/muffins/cereal). Would definitely stay here again.... my only fear that it's going to be hard to get rooms once people find out what a bargain this hotel is for the location. The free parking was an added bonus.

This is a special place. The location is great, the pool and area very good and the service is outstanding. The owners really want you to enjoy your stay and do everything they can for you. I imagine that this sort of place is rare in the beach resorts of the US.

The room was beautifully decorated, fairly small. Breakfast was very efficient and lovely poolside. The beach is a short walk away.

The whole place is spotless. The bed was so comfortable and air conditioning was perfect. My only gripe is that the bathroom needed updating. However we soon forgot about that in the general comfort and friendliness of the place.

Recommended for the traveller who wants a great experience.

Room Tip: Look at the room plan available online.

We arrived after the office had closed, and they had forgot to leave the key out for us. After a phonecall they arrived after 20 minutes and we got our rooms. Our family of five stayed in two rooms with a connecting door. The rooms were clean and nice. The hotel has a good location close to the beach and with a nice pool. Good breakfast, but arrive early! Late sleepers only get sugar/chocolate cereals...

After reading such great reviews, my husband and I decided to try Alhambra for a weekend getaway. We were in heaven. Matt welcomed us, showed us our room, and made sure we were comfortable. We stayed in the rear hotel room, which was just fine with us. It was extremely clean, perfect amount of space for the two of us. Had everything we needed. The resort grounds were immaculate. The pool area relaxing and refreshing. The walk to the beach is nothing. It would have taken us longer to get down from one of the highrise hotels than it did from Alhambra. Another great thing is we were close enough to the nightlife, but not to close. Only a five minute walk to Beach Place and restaurants. The beach we relaxed on was not crowded at all, as oppose to 5 minutes down the road being very busy. We absolutely can't wait to go back. It was a little piece of heaven for us. So thankful we found it!!! Thanks to all the staff there as well. Everyone was super nice!

My daughter and I stayed for 1 night post cruise to celebrate her college graduation. After a week of being spoiled on the Allure of the Seas, the spoiling continued at the Alhambra. We arrived prior to check-in and only waited a short time at the pool while the maid finished our room. My husband had called from home to send my daughter champagne and balloons to our room, which they had upgraded. We lounged by the pool the rest of the day and met another couple who were also their for the first time and were equally thrilled. The hotel is quiet and very well maintained. Shops, restaurants are within walking distance. Matt and Ernesto were gracious hosts. We hope to return.

Room Tip: We had a room only ground floor rear which was very quiet.
