We stayed at the Riverside for one night for a pre-cruise stay. We booked a room through Expedia in the newer tower and were very pleased. Hotel check in was quick, and the lobby was very nice.

The room was large, clean, cool, and comfortable. Nice plush towels in the bathroom which was very large, good water pressure too. We also had a great view of the river. We spent the day at the pool which was across the street, but very clean and nice and quiet. We really enjoyed the location since we did not have a car, and spent the nite on Las Olas, at at Mancini's Restauarant. Was excellent..I recommend the fresh spinich ravioli in the brown butter cream sage sauce, was the best!

Overall I would definatly stay here again, was a great choice.

Just spent the weekend at the Riverside hotel, was a little nervous considering the reviews.. noso when I arrived I upgraded to the new tower building, wow great view of the river big , nice room, friendly service, and as you come out of the hotel you are right there on las olas loads of nice restaurants, resonably priced for lunch, a little pricey in the evening, but so cute.We walked to the beach which was really too far 40 mins, should have taken the tram. And the fact that the pool is accross the street is no big deal, its not really a street just the other side of the hotel, and it too is right on the river. Would definately return to this hotel.

The lobby, restaurants and hallways were nicely decorated; but the room I was in was just awful. My room was in the older part of the hotel, code word for hopefully pre-renovated section. A very big disappointment considering the I price I paid.

The room was like I was back in the 1930s, except without the ambience or elegance of that era. I didn't expect very, very old hand-me-down furniture that no one would want if put out on a trash heap.

The toilet kept running after flushing & the telephone messaging system just lit; but never gave me my messages. They fixed the toilet; but never fixed the blinking telephone message signal or gave me my messages.

The front desk kept trying to get me to upgrade my room and now I know why. If this is considered a four star hotel it shouldn't have any 0 star rooms anywhere on site, thats just ridiculous.

If you can find a room elsewhere for the same price, go there instead. If anyone gets a room in the older, traditional section please take photos and post them. Unfortunately I didn't get photos of the room.

Stayed here for 3 days and enjoyed the neighborhood, restaurants, and Las Olas Blvd. This hotel was not nearly a 4 star, however. Gorgeous lobby, but the room was awful. There was construction going on, peeling paint, mildew in bathroom, very old building looked every bit of its 75 or so years. View of the back of the hotel and nearby apartment complexes. Room was not clean, dusty and just not well taken care of. Plenty of business travelers and very large wedding parties left us feeling left out and unwelcome, especially in lobby where sitting tables were reserved for others each morning. Front desk staff was not very helpful and didn't go out of their way for anything. Definitely not worth the price, which was supposedly a bargain at under $200, but wasn't worth half that. Next time I will DEFINITELY stay elsewhere.

The room was small and tucked into the corner of an older wing - not at all what we had been led to believe when booking online at a special but still pretty high rate. The AC worked on motion sensor, so when you walked into the room, it was stuffy and humid, and would only start cooling the moment you walked in. The parking valet was uncooperative to the point of being borderline aggressive. The music at the pool was nonstop Christmas songs, so loud that we couldn't relax and read, and when we asked to have it turned down, since we were the only people at the pool and we weren't enjoying the noise, we were shrilly accused by the concierge of having no Christmas spirit. The doorman was in the habit of jumping out of his little stand, blocking our way from one of the maze-like little hallways into the main lobby, and sternly inquiring whether he could help us. All in all: overpriced and very stressful experience, neither restful nor charming.
