We visited the Everglades in February 06 and stayed at the Travelodge. The location was great and I appreciated the choice of breakfast items, the mini-fridge and microwave. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. We stayed for 3 nights and had a pleasant experience. As a group, we could congregate at the tiki hut tables in the parking lot outside our rooms. Not the most comfortable bed, but the room was definitely worth the price. A good seafood restaurant was across the street with outdoor seating (Captains, I think.) I would recommend the Travelodge. I didn't see anything else that looked better.
