5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Last winter, Feb. to be exact my wife and I were on a holiday in the south. We had stayed at many places in Florida. When we stayed here we were treated with excellent service, courteous staff, very clean rooms, fantastic location and the breakfast was great. If any one has the chance to stay at this Best Western you will find that everything that I have written is true.
PS
Of all the hotels that we stayed in during our trip the Best Western Hotels provided us with the best service and prices.
yours sincerely

My family and I visited the keys for a few days and stayed here two nights during the week. This hotel is very clean, staff was super friendly, prices for the rooms were great and it is a perfect location for a driving tour of the keys without breaking your bank. I had reserved two rooms for us and when we checked in, one room was warm, it seemed the air was not working properly. I asked the gentleman at the front desk about it and he immediately put us in another room, no questions asked. The second room was great and we had no further issues the rest of our stay here. The breakfast was always plentiful, hot and tasty. I can't say enough about the staff here, very friendly...check-in was quick and check-out might have been quicker, no problems. I recommend this place if you are planning a driving tour of the upper keys...nice place!

When you think Keys, you think $$$. Thank goodness for the Florida City BW, a clean, comfortable, and friendly hotel and staff. Lots of pros with the big comfy bed with high-end bedding, free wifi (and internet) which stayed connected during our entire stay (other hotels the service comes and goes). A plus is the sanitary remote for the TV and good reception. Huge pool (biggest in town) but bad weather so didn't get to use it. The hotel and property had a beautiful tropical feel from the pretty pastel, white trimmed building, coconut palms, and vegetation. Room furniture included a dining table with 2 chairs, king-size bed (with high end bedding). The room and furniture was light and airy making it easy to find your things when it came time to gather them up. There was a small kitchen-like area between the bedroom and bath, giving you a small fridge (with a freezer compartment), microwave and an extra sink outside of the full bath. Beautiful granite counter tops. Walls and ceilings looked beautifully updated. After a restful night, breakfast was also a great treat with 2 types of eggs, fresh bacon and homemade waffles and many more choices including gourmet creamers for the coffee! Yeah! Cons: Carpet in our suite could be updated, had a big burn (fault of previous tenants), and the floor between the carpet and the tile needed some sort of threshold as there was a gap between the two. Although the bathroom toilet was a fairly comfortable height for us old farts, it did have a tendency to run a bit but we figured out to jiggle the handle to save water. There are a few spots that need some updating/repair where doors have been removed from the closet but the brackets are still there. When sitting on the toilet there are a couple of areas under the vanity on both sides that need some sanding and painting. All of these are very minor issues but addressing them would take the room to the top of the scale for value and comfort. We plan to return and spend more time and I can honestly say that I've never said that before about any Best Western and very few other hotels. This one is exceptional! You can tell by the all the reviews that the owners take great pride in running the place and are very engaged with their customers, always trying to make things nicer.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. Our staff will be excited to hear your kind words about them. I will most certainly post your review in their area. I am glad you made time to enjoy our tropical pool area and hot tub. It is a great way to relax after a long day at the Everglades or Florida Keys. I am glad that the staff was able to find you some good dining choices. There are several local restaurants that we love to recommend to our guest. I hope you make it down here to South Miami again. If you are in the area please book directly at 305-246-5100 or click on our link in the top left. If you have any questions please email me at gatewaybw@aol.com

Sincerely
Felix

Wonderful place! I was looking for a hotel for the night and happened to see the Best Western sign. I have generally had good rooms with Best Westerns so I pulled in. Good parking for the motorcycle and the room was fantastic! Very clean, nothing broken, beds were spotlessly clean and comfortable. Staff was nice, but could have taken more interest in their guests. Breakfast was average fare, nothing really special. I thought the price was a little too high, but was not about to go searching for another place. I would stay here again and recommend it to any friends.

Thank you for staying with us. Motorcycles are always welcome at Best Western and we have a very special relationship with Harley Davidson as well. We pride ourselves in cleanliness and comfort. Our rooms are large and come with microwave, refrigerator, flat screen tv, upgraded linen, iron, and much more. I will mention your comments to our staff and let them know to be more interactive with our guests. As for the price, I assure you that we are the best value in town and far cheaper than the hotels in the next cities. If you are ever back, please call us at 350-246-5100 or email me at gatewaybw@aol.com. I can give you the best prices and discounts that cant be found on the web.

Sincerely
Felix
