“Pleasant Hotel - The Place to Stay in Florida City!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

This hotel is very convenient to Key Largo and definitely a better value than any we found in Key Largo. The hotel and our room were very clean and the room was quiet, even though it was near a major highway. The complimentary breakfast was enjoyable, with bacon and eggs along with the usual cereals and pastries. Afternoon cookies on check-in and a flat screen TV were a plus, too. Refrigerator, microwave, USA Today and wifi just added to the value.

Hotel was well kept, very clean and new looking...Well maintained.
Staff was very helpful .... Cost was reasonable.....
The room was very clean very comfortable and well maintained... Excellent T.V. and A/C...
We also looked out over the pool area, very nice and well maintained.
The one thing I did not care for were the miniature pillows, they need to be removed and back to queen size pillows, other than that this hotel is a good place to stay, clean, neat and helpful staff.
All the coffee you could drink in lobby if needed...
We did not try the breakfast buffet so cannot comment but when we left it was jamming....
Would definitely recommend if you need a place to stay on the way to the Keys.
We ate at Captains Restaurant that afternoon for lunch and it was very good with great staff.

Room Tip: If you can stay in a room overlooking the pool and deck area....

We stayed in this hotel when returning from the Florida Keys. It was easy to find between Krome Avenue and the Interstate. The initial appearance of the hotel was very good and it lived up to this first appearance. The room was large, clean and smart. The hotel ambience was great.

On our way to the Keys a few days earlier we had stayed at another hotel in Florida City, which was much more highly rated on Tripadvisor, but which (in our opinion) was not so good.

The Best Western was a lot better, but a little bit more expensive. However it was well worth the difference. I had wondered why the other hotel was more highly rated. I found out, I think. The other hotel emailed me when I got home and asked me to complete a survey, which they then published on Tripadvisor. This one did not. It follows that the other hotel had more Tripadvisor reports,

We needed a hotel to stay where we could park our truck and motorcycle trailer while we rode our motorcycles to Key West. This was a great place for that. The front desk staff was very friendly and accomodating. They did not charge us for leaving our truck and trailer during our Key West adventure and everything was in perfect condition when we returned. Our room was very clean and accomodating. The pool area was beautifully landscaped even though the pool and hot tub were not warm enough to use. The breakfast room was very nice and large enough to accomodate guests to use to visit in the evenings. The breakfast was very good! I would definately recommend another stay here.

I am not sure of the age of this hotel has the appearance of being new. Rooms are wonderful, clean, a good size. A very refreshing experience. Pool area is in courtyard and very private with lots of space for sunning. Washers and dryers are available for use free of charge. Rooms are well sound proofed. Air conditioning good with a reasonable noise level.

Breakfast included was very good. Bacon, scrambled eggs. A good variety with bagels, english muffins, pastry and bread. Also low cal yogourt. Several types of juice were also available. Dining room was spacious airy and clean. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate were available 24/7.

Room Tip: If you are thinking of going to the Keys for the day this is a perfect spot to stay and way for reas...

I am glad to see that you enjoyed your stay with us. We work very hard to keep our property fresh. It has been recently renovated and there is always something new we are adding to the property We have the only hot tub in the area and our pool area is an oasis away from the city. I am glad you made use of the free laundry room. I hope you come back again and enjoy all the area has to offer.
