“Good Hotel, Convenient Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

Good hotel in location convenient for Everglades and Florida Keys.
Rooms of good size and standard and properly cleaned. Plenty of parking. Good free breakfast but the seating area off reception is small although there are additional tables outside. Hot drinks and biscuits are available free all day in the hotel lobby. Free Wifi is only accessible in reception. There are many fast food restaurants within a short walking distance.

We chose this hotel because we wanted something close to both the EverGlades and the Florida Keys at a reasonable price (hotel prices in the Keys were a bit too high). This Best Western was a good choice because of the location and the service. Rooms were very clean, pool area was very relaxing and had a nice row of hedges around it for privacy and to block road noise (although the hotel sits pretty far back from the road) Breakfast was good with many choices and the staff did a great job at keeping it clean and stocked. My only suggestion for improvement would be if they could add more variety to the hot items. ( scrambled eggs and bacon evry day)
My only "disappointments" were that they did not have an exercise room for working out and WiFi was in the lobby and pool areas only. (you could plug a laptop in inside the room)...this addition would have made it more highly rated in my opinion.

We are really glad you enjoyed your stay here with us in Florida City. I apologize for the Wifi, they are in the process of installing it for the rooms as we speak. We offer a lot more value for the price then the hotels in keys and our property is very well maintained. I appreciate you taking the time for writing this review and hope that you come visit us soon again. We strive for higher ratings and we hope we can achieve this upon your next visit.

Our stay at the Best Western, Florida City, more than met our expectations and was very satisfying. We stayed here because of its proximity to the Everglades National Park and reasonable price, considering its location in South Florida.
The staff was very friendly, informative and accomodating; we requested a first floor room and, even though the hotel was full, our request was granted with a smile. We were able to park directly in front of the room, which makes for easy transport of belongings. The room was immaculate, light, airy and roomy. The beds were very comfortable with nicer than average sheets and bedspreads. There was a nice sized TV with HBO, coffeemaker, refrigerator, microwave, utility sink and a roomy bathroom. The only issue was the outside noise at times, but we put on the fan to mask some of it.
There is a lovely pool area with a small, but relaxing hot tub; quite an oasis in the middle of a city. There is breakfast available in the morning and coffee and cookies 24/7. We felt very safe here, as it is built away from US 1, so there is no easy access to outsiders. We felt this was a perfect launching pad for our incredible trip to the miraculous Everglades!

We booked a fishing charter out of Flamingo (in Everglades National Park) and stayed in this hotel the night before the charter. The rooms were clean and quiet and the hotel well run. Very comfortable beds. Perfect location for this side of the park.

We needed a place to stay closer to the Ft. Lauderdale Cruise Terminal than Key West (where we had been the night before). This fit the bill perfectly. It's really close to the entrance to Everglades National Park, less than an hour from Ft. Lauderdale or Miami, close to restaurants and Hwy 1. They have very nice, large rooms with all the amenities, a very friendly and professional staff, nighttime security, and a great breakfast (included in the price). We were very pleased with every aspect of our stay here, even though we were just passing through.

Room Tip: Our second floor rooms were great

Best Western Florida City is conveniently located as the gateway to Everglades National Park, Robert Is Here fruit and vegetable stand, and the Keys. Lots of amenities in the room……a wet bar, microwave, refrigerator, dresser, closet, iron and board, desk, and seating. Room is very clean. Property is well-maintained. Staff is friendly and courteous. Breakfast offered a good variety of both hot and cold foods. Also healthy foods….yogurt, granola, and fresh fruits.
It is off South Krome Avenue where there are lots of authentic Mexican eateries. Highly recommend this as a base to the Keys.
