“Very Friendly Staff and Nice Clean Motel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2010

We got a great deal on this Ramada Inn. This was our first stay here. We were welcomed by friendly staff and got a room exactly as we had requested. It was clean and really rather large.

This motel is within walking distance of a couple of restaurants with great happy hours. There are lots of great restaurants in Florida City/Homestead after you've had time to figure it all out.

This included a continental breakfast which is great to have something quick before leaving for a nice ride down the keys. You have to deal with the ignorance of those people who feel they have to take everything that isn't nailed down to take with them for the rest of the day but that happens at any "free" breakfast deal.

I would recommend this place for anyone considering to stay here due to price/location. We would certainly stay again without hestitation.

You need to remember that this is a motel. So that should set your expectations that I feel will be met in every way.

We really enjoyed our stay at this Ramada. The room was very large and has nice furniture, lcd tv, fridge etc. We really liked the large pillows and plush mattress. The pool has a little waterfall and is very clean. The hotel is just a few miles from Homestead racetrack, Everglades National Park and Biscayne National Park. The only negative thing I found was the lack of laundry facilities. We had to go to a local Laundromart. There can also be a lot of traffic noise (motorcycles) but not after bedtime. They had a great deal going if you stay 4 or more nights you get 20% off. We would have been happy even without the great price ($87/night).

We got there as our GPS showed us the way to the next “Hampton Inn”, obviously Ramada took over the place. It’s good in terms of location, only a 20 minutes drive from Everglades National Park, also in terms of price – around 90 Dollars for a double with a neat breakfast buffet. BUT: We stayed there mid of August, wet season. There’s a muddy, stinky field next to the hotel where thousands of frogs will jump out at sun dawn and stick next to the room’s entrance lights. Yuck!! The best thing about the room is the absurdly large flat-screen television, the half-open bathroom is pretty old, as is most of the room. We had dead bugs, flies and moscitos spreaded everywhere over the room, which we think came from the fact that we stayed there in low-season, and nobody was using this particular room for weeks, so whatever was locked in after the last room-service perished and covered the beds, floors… Overall, we didn’t really enjoy this place, although we liked the free internet. You’re better with looking for alternatives.

Tips: *Use heavy mosquito repellant when doing any activity at the Everglades. Every bug will attack you. *Attend the ranger programs, they’re fun and very informative! *Don’t take one of the motorboats, they’re stupid, noisy and expensive. *Don’t go to the Alligator Farm, it’s stupid. Why do you want to see prisoned Alligators if only few miles away, you can watch the wildest wildlife?! *You must – MUST – go to the “ROBERT IS HERE” fruit-stand on the way to the National Park, and order a KEY-LIME MILKSHAKE… heavenly!

We had great time while staying at this location. The staff were highly knowledgeible of the area and surrounding counties. great location close to all (in my opinon if there is a walmart close by its a great location) There is staff member by the name of Norma she is a beauitful person. she takes care of the breakfast in the morning and keeps everything stocked. shocked to see that every morning there is new items to choose from. Anyway hotel is in my book A++ and will definely will choose this if traveling back to the Miami-Key West area.

Stopped to spend the night on our way to Key West. 1st room we were given had the TV unplugged so we plugged it in. the TV started smoking and smelling up the room. We moved to a second room and I could not believe what we found. Two of the lamps in the room had only one bulb in them. The bedside lamps had no bulbs and had paper stuffed in sockets. The somke alarm in the room was cover up with a plastic bag.
Are yo kidding me. I would never stay at this hotel again nor would I recommend it to anyone.

We stayed here on our first night in US, having arrived from the UK. The hotel was very easy to find, near the end of the Florida Turnpike. A quiet location yet still handy for local shops, malls and restaurants. The bed was extremely comfortable and we had a good night's sleep after a long flight. Up very early next morning and popped down the road to Walmart (open 24 hrs) to stock up on holiday essentials. Back to the Ramada for an excellent breakfast, included in the price. Staff very friendly and helpful.
