“Convenient place to explore Everglades”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

A couple of hours' drive to the Everglades National Park, with Walmart and Denny's (right in front) nearby for a quick grocery pick-up and meal.

Room's a bit old, but comfy, with good hot showers. The included breakfast has waffles, fruits, toasts, eggs and sausages, which are pretty good.

I stayed in this hotel January 19. It was one of the only hotels not sold out. I have stayed at a few "Choice Hotels" in the past so I know what to expect. The room was very outdated and worn. The remote for the television was broken but still worked. The bathroom was very worn needed to be detail cleaned a little better as I found hair and dustballs on the floor. This room was towards the back of the property so it was very quiet. The A/C worked well (a little too well) and kept the room at a comfortable temperature. The front desk staff did a great job in checking in and out. As a former resident of Homestead/Florida City this hotel is in a very important part of town. This part of town is the last stop on the mainland before the Florida Keys. This hotel needs to be remodled to better showcase for the tourists.

Room Tip: Stay further back in the property. US1 is a very busy street.

We stayed for one night going to Key West; very happy with the hotel: very clean, nice roomy room, friendly staff. We got a good price on the room, less than it was online. I recommend this hotel and would stay definitely here again.

We chose this place because of its proximity to the Everglades and it is the cheapest place that guaranteed a fridge + microwave. If you prepay, it’s $10 off per night. The room condition was okay. Carpet’s a little worn, but it’s to be expected. The breakfast selection was the most basic hot breakfast, but what could really be improved is how things are placed. All it takes is just some minor rearrangement and the breakfast rush would be more manageable. We stayed during a busy time of the year and getting breakfast food took some elbowing. The pool is not heated, best as I can tell. And the sound insulation is on the thin side. The wifi signal was good.

Rooms were clean, nice work table. Excellent lobby breakfast. Pleasant staff. This was a great point to start everglades park tour or trip to key west. Would recommend freely. Make reservation, not many motels there.

I am not a fan of Quality Inns but occasionally end up in one for various reasons. They are the ugly stepsister of Holiday inn! The decor is very dated and I always wonder as we are walking down to find our room what I might find when I open the door. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at the comfort of the beds and I ended up getting a really good nights sleep. I would stay here again! Weird quirk was it had 2 queen beds and 2 bedside lights but only the only settings were one side was on, the other side was off, or they were both off??? So if you both want to read before bed I hope you have a lighted Nook or other reading device!

This is the second time we stayed here. The staff is not as helpful as last year, but they suggested a rather good place to have supper. Beds were good and we got a good nights sleep. The place could be cleaners. I thought Quality Inns were a little better.

Room Tip: Try the newer building the build the office is in needs some help
