“An unpretentious local treat!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

If you're looking for somewhere between Biscayne and Flamingo that's not touristy or overdone, this is the place. The food is quite good and the portions and prices reasonable. It's an unpretentious place, but judging from the number of locals that seem to patronize it, it must be one of the better places in town.

When we ordered lemon iced tea and our server apologized that all they had at the moment was key limes. we knew we'd found tropical fruit nirvana... when she went on to steer us to some wonderful local spots we'd otherwise have missed, handing out brochures with graceful warmth, it got even better. We went back the next day for breakfast, which was also excellent.

“Can't judge a book by its cover”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

The exterior isn't much to look at, and the inside could use a little paint, but the food was great! If you want a home cooked meal away from home this is the place. Definitely recommend.

“Great Florida Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

Hearty, casual, fast breakfast with great Florida service (honey, dear). We had eggs with hash and potatoes, eggs with beans and rice, ham and cheese omelet with potatoes (more ham than cheese and eggs). This breakfast kept us going through an afternoon snorkel tour.
The restaurant is at the Farmers' Market: watch for forklift traffic in the parking lot.

“Good value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2013

This restaurant is set within the compound where farmers bring their produce for market or storage - not sure which. The restaurant offers good, wholesome and relatively simple food although the menu is quite varied. We went for an evening meal and appreciated the lack of pretentiousness. There are plastic table clothes, there is little or no music playing and we liked what we ate. This seems a working man's restaurant rather than a rather a place for fine dining but if you want a change from fast food or from paying a lot for the decor of a restaurant rather than the food itself, you will like this place. At the Farmers' Market the food itself, presumably, comes fresh from the farm.

“Friendly, Homey, Simple”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

I like this place. Whether you come for breakfast, lunch or dinner, it's good. Atmosphere is plain and simple with a large farm mural on the wall and farming photos. Waitresses are pleasant. They have a good breakfast with lots of options and chef choices of the day. Big pancakes, farmer's omelets, and they do an all you can eat Fish Fry on Fridays. Cracker Barrel is right across the road, always with a wait, and there is never a wait here. Prices are fair, not as good as you'd expect in a little family place.
