Gourmet Gourmet has been on Amelia Island for a long time with variable results. Now they have a wonderful new chef named Zach who is awesome. Also, the service by Brooke was great.
Terrific offerings and moderate prices. Four of us dined on appetizers of foie gras, homemade meatballs (best I've ever eaten), and salad. The foie gras came with poached pear, red grape tapenade, and a balsamic reduction.
My husband had the pan seared duck with a butternut squash quinoa pilaf and a grand marnier gastrique. When he finished it looked like he had licked his plate.
I had the most flavorful slow braised Italian short ribs with whipped potatoes and baby asparagus. Our friends enjoyed Parmesean encrusted chicken served with wild mushroom risotto topped with artichokes, capers and piccata sauce.
Only one of us had room for dessert and it was a cheesecake with expressos and lattes. We will definitely be back to continue sampling the menu prepared by Zach at Gourmet Gourmet.
