Description: The traditional flavors of Spain and Portugal are highlighted in all our dishes here in the heart of historic Fernandina Beach. Sip on homemade Sangria or enjoy a glass of wine from a list of hand picked selections (International and Californian). Choose from a menu of hot and cold tapas, "just caught" fish or meat entrees including the national dish of Spain, Paella. You can choose to dine in our cozy main dining room, bright enclosed patio dining room or lush garden dining area (weather permitting). Chef Roberto is a second generation restaurateur, with over 25 years experience. He endeavors to make your evening a memorable one by bringing both his own family recipes, and inspiration from trips to Spain and Portugal for you to savor and enjoy. Family owned and operated since 2004. The Original on Amelia Island!

“Awesome!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

Our 1st visit did not prepare us for how good the food here is. We had 2 tapas dishes - one shrimp w/coconut and the escargot in tomato brandy sauce - excellent. My husband loved the bread so he could dip it in the sauce! We then shared the sea food paella. It was very good and enough for the both of us. Don't forget to try the sangria - very tasty.

“Tremendous cuisine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

We ate from their tapas selections. We'd never had steak of calamari before! Incredible! Wines were good, excellent for the price and don't miss the desserts.

“Iberian Dinner Out”

Good, well-prepared dinner mixing Spanish and Portuguese cuisine. Wine menu better stocked with Spanish wines than Portuguese.

“Lives Up to Expectations”

All 4 of us truly enjoyed the dinner at Espana. All had different dishes, from tapas to full entrees and everyone was happy.

“Excellent food, average service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013 via mobile

We dined at Espana on July 29. We ordered an assortment of tapas, salad, entrees, and dessert. The tapas included Gambas Mozambique (cooked shrimp in a coconut-based sauce), Mediterraneo (caprese-style tomato and fresh mozzarella salad), Picadinho (pork tenderloin in sauce), Chorizo Encebollado (sausage and onions). We followed the tapas with Ensalada de Sangria, a light, summery salad of fresh and dried fruits and almonds on a bed of mixed greens, drizzled with a berry vinaigrette. Entrees in our group included Solomillo con Cabrales (beef tenderloin with blue cheese sauce) and Pargo con Espinaca (snapper in a lemon caper sauce on a bed of spinach). The food was delicious, without exception, as was the sangria. The portions were generous and the atmosphere was attractive. The only reason this was not a 5-star meal was the service, which was occasionally inattentive, and required multiple requests for drink refills.
