Sip on homemade Sangria or enjoy a glass of wine from a list of hand picked selections (International and Californian). Choose from a menu of hot and cold tapas, "just caught" fish or meat entrees including the national dish of Spain, Paella. You can choose to dine in our cozy main dining room, bright enclosed patio dining room or lush garden dining area (weather permitting). Chef Roberto is a second generation restaurateur, with over 25 years experience. He endeavors to make your evening a memorable one by bringing both his own family recipes, and inspiration from trips to Spain and Portugal for you to savor and enjoy. “A Taste of Spain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013 via mobile

I just got back from a weeklong business trip to Barcelona, but can honestly say last night's meal at Espana was better than anythingI had in Europe. Our table of 4 started with three outstanding tapas as appetizers: the Spanish antipasto, the "drunken clams" and the marinated olives. All were excellent. For dinner, two in our party shared a huge serving of rustic paella, a rice dish that substitutes meats for traditional seafood. They loved it...and took half home due to the generous portion. I had the paella Valencia, which had chicken plus clams, mussels and shrimp. It was the best paella I've ever had. The fourth person had a traditional steak which was tasty and cooked perfectly. Our server was pleasant and knowledgable suggesting a very nice, reasonably-priced white Spanish wine. Although we've visited the island annually for 14 years, remarkably this was our first trip to Espana. It won't be the last as it's one of the best restaurants on the island. Highly recommended.

“Tasty tapas and sangria!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

We decided to share a meal of tapas (small plates) and sangria for dinner on our last night on Amelia Island. We especially enjoyed the shrimp Mozambique...the sauce was so delicious we asked for extra bread to savor every bite. The service was also very attentive and professional (without being smothering). Overall a great restaurant!

“Favorite meal!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

Had the most wonderful tapas ans sangria here! We couldn't get reservations because of a large party there that night so we sat at the small bar - and it turned out to be a wonderful evening! Service was wonderful. The tapas were some of the best we have ever had. Great little place with a beautiful garden. Would have loved to had time to go back for another meal!

“Boring boring bland boring uninspired.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013 via mobile

My is band had the special of grouper & shrimp with a lemon, artichoke, sundried tomato, and caper sauce. Chef used canned artichokes so the entire flavor profile was salty metallic blandness. The grouper was cooked perfectly. The shrimp was over seasoned and overcooked. There appears to be some sort of spice mixture that chef uses a lot of (also used on tge sheimp) because the side veggies were drowning in it. I had two tapas...Gamboa Mozambique (shrimp in a spicy coconut sauce) and the Tortilla. Shrimp were completely overlooked and most likely frozen. No spice or flavor really other than the slightest hint of coconut. The tortilla had cabbage in it? I think. Either way, the dish should be rustic, tasty and served room temp. Espana's version was clearly reheated in the microwave and was greasy. I have nooo idea how this possibly the best restaurant in fernandina.

“Great food, wine, energy and ambiance”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

We dined at Espana this past week-end and were not disappointed! This is our second time here, and the food is wonderful! The wait staff is so attentive, but not invasive and the energy in the restaurant, so much fun! Don't eat too much bread though, cause it is delicious, but you won't have room for the flan!
