“Bueno!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2014

This was our first trip to La Mancha and we are delighted that my husband found it on tripadvisor. I couldn't find the menu online so can't remember the names of the dishes but we started with a cold tapas of meats, cheeses, olives, eggplant, zucchini, on and on. The four of us could not finish it. Two of us then chose the Grouper Mondragon with two large panko-crusted sea scallops on top. It was excellent. The vegetables served with it were delicious. My husband had the paella and was the least pleased with his dish. It wasn't bad but just different than what he has had in Spain. Our fourth had a chicken dish and she cleaned her plate. For dessert we shared a piece of tres leches cake which was good, not great, and a flan which was very good. The house cabernet was surprisingly good. We also had a bottle of cab from Napa (about $48) which was really good. One in our party doesn't like red wine but said she enjoyed this one. All in all, it was a very pleasant dinner and we will go back. Our server, Jose, was wonderful. Do not be thrown by the location next to a Days Inn and in a former Shoney's.

“Fernandina's finest”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2014

We have spent the last three Februaries in Fernandina Beach, and have enjoyed eating in some very good restaurants. Of these, the best and most memorable is La Mancha. We shared the Caldeirada a Portuguese. As the chef is from Brazil, this was a signature dish, and one of the very best meals we have had. It is the Portuguese version of bouillabaisse with a delicious broth and lots of seafood. A previous poster mentioned the bread - it is perfect with this dish. We enjoyed talking with Chef Willys, who comes around to the tables, and were delighted when he sent us a dessert. On a February Tuesday the restaurant was full, so be sure to reserve. Although La Mancha has only been open for 8 months, it is already a well-known destination restaurant. Save the exterior, everything is first class here.

“Won't return”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2014

An attractive restaurant, but we were seated beside a group who were loudly discussing their prosthetic joints, chemotherapy regimens including platelet counts and investment portfolios. We asked the waiter to please move us to another table in the main dining room, but he said he could not. He added that the group was finished and would shortly depart - untrue. Our dinners were delicious, but we ate them in a rush as it was hard to hear one other. We asked the waiter to have our taxi called. He returned to say the taxi would arrive in 10 minutes. We paid and went outside to wait for the taxi back to the hotel. After 45 minutes, I went back in and asked the young woman greeter about the cab. She had never called the cab. Good customer service is the lifeblood of any organization; La Mancha has good food, but needs to upgrade their attitude toward the customer.

“Great food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2014

Really great tapas and worth your visit. The service was great, and even though we saw some mix-ups with our food and check, we enjoyed it! Try the shrimp with poblano sauce.

“Awesome Paella”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2014 via mobile

This ranks as one of our top five restaurants. Had the Paella the first night. A perfect combination of flavors and textures. Our second night in Fernandina we were afraid any other restaurant would be a disappointment so want back for tapas which were wonderful. This morning will try their breakfast.

Strongly recommend you try La Mancha if you appreciate good food and attentive service
