“Hands down the best bar on Amelia Island for history and meeting new friends!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

The Palace Saloon just celebrated it's 110 Year Anniversary in 2013. Yes it has been in business in the state of Florida since 1903. I am a long time patron of this great place and to this day am surprised nearly everytime I step foot in the door. You either meet a new friend or learn something new about the history of this great place or the amazing Island it has called home for over 110 years! Do yourself a favor and be sure to stop in the next time you have a chance and if you have any questions...Just ask your bartender.

“Return to old historical place.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

We went to the Palace Saloon because it had been years since I'd been there. They use to serve beer boiled shrimp but no more it was just a bar now with smoky air. The old mahogany was still very pretty. They had happy hour drink specials and a live band that evening. We enjoyed ourselves and will return there next time we go to Fernandina.

“Historic Saloon - Be Sure to Stop in for a Drink”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

With its old beautiful bar and tin ceiling this historic saloon is a great stop day or night for a drink. We went in one evening and enjoyed drinks, enjoyed the history of this unique saloon. It is a smoking facility which is the only negative. We did find out after arriving they have a game and area and a non-smoking bar in the back. (Recommend non-smokers check that out). A band was getting ready to play as we left and the bar was definitely getting busy.

“Yuch”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

It certainly smelled like the oldest saloon in FL. We usually give a place a fair chance, but this place smelled so bad we walked in, checked out the bar and some photos and got out. People seemed to be having a good time, but just could not hang with the smell

The Palace Saloon has been a smoking establishment since first opening its doors in 1903. As long as the laws of the State of Florida allow us to continue this tradition our guests will enjoy this freedom.
I regret the smoking prevented you from experiencing our friendly service, outstanding beer menu and a century of well-preserved tradition. I further regret you were not able to provide an accurate guest experience rating.
Along with the Palace Saloon and Uncle Charlie’s Sports bar we have two newer additions to the establishment that are smoke free. Sheffield’s at the Palace is open Monday through Wednesday from 3:30pm until 10pm and Thursday through Saturday from 3:30pm until 2am featuring a DJ and top 40 dance music. Uncle Charlie’s has a newer addition to its pool room that features 1000 square feet of non-smoking. This non-smoking section has 2 billiards tables and 5 large screen televisions playing NFL Sunday Ticket and all major sporting events. This section is open daily from 6pm to 2am.
