“Great New Spanish-Portuguese Restaurant in Fernandina Beach!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2012

We were on Amelia Island celebrating a birthday with friends. The four of us showed up late to Don Quixote after getting a good review about it from a staff member at The Ritz Carlton. Although they looked like they were getting ready to close the maitre d' welcomed us warmly and assured us they would still serve us. Since it was late we just wanted to order Tapas and again our server helped with our selections. The 4 choices we made were put in the middle of the table and we shared them - everything was wonderful!!! We had Picanha a Palito (grilled sirloin with blue cheese sauce), Scallops Mondragon, (scallops with a creamy roasted poblano pepper sauce), Camarone Don Quixote (shrimp with coconut milk, cayenne pepper, and cilantro), and Eggplant Branca Lua (eggplant rolled and stuffed with crab and spinach topped with saffron seafood sauce and mozzarella). Can't rave enough about the blend of flavours. Would return in a heartbeat if we visit Amelia Island again!

“New and different!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2012

A combination Spanish-Portuguese restaurant, this recent addition to the Centre Street scene will be sure to please those looking for something other than beachy seafood platters. With extensive hot and cold tapas menus and entrees that range from fish caught that day to lamb and beef, this place is bound to please those with a more sophisticated palate. On our recent visit, the owner plied us with complimentary appetizers and post-dinner port, too. It feels family but never forgets the important elements of fine food, expertly prepared and served.

“Great new restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2012 via mobile

Just finished a surprisingly good meal at new restaurant. Don Quixote's is a Spanish themed Tapa Restaurant. We had the lamb meatballs - Yummy, two Paella dishes very good. One was meat based and one was seafood based. Both were well prepared And very tasty. The salads were good sized and not overly dressed. We also tried shrimp in coconut sauce and really nice croquettes. The wine list was mostly Spanish with a very good selection. And they also have a full liquor bar. So I can have a very good meal for a reasonable price. One small complaint about noise level. Too many hard surfaces. Need to work on that. I'll be back for sure!
