“A great escape”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2012

My sister and I spent Labor Day weekend here. It's a lovely hotel with excellent service. We had a great time.

On a side note: it's a resort for families -- there were tons of children. The only night life was college kids playing pool. The main bar was dead before 11pm.

Went to take a shower at 8am Sunday and the water was tepid at first, then positively cold. This is a Ritz-Carlton for crying out loud. And the bathroom sink taps both ran hot water instead of hot & cold - when the water was hot, that is. The cold shower ruined the stay for me. The hotel is beautiful but if I have to take a cold shower because they cheaped out and didn't install sufficient hot water heaters for all the rooms, then I'll be staying somewhere else next time. And if that wasn't enough, the rooms are not well noise insulated. You can hear every word from guests out in the halls.

Room Tip: take your shower at night if you like hot water.

Beautiful property, great customer service, especially from Elaine R. at front desk. Excellent club level experience. Got lucky with the weather also.
The new "8" sports bar is terrific as well. Prime rib sliders are the best.

I love this hotel. It is like a wealthy friend's home and you are his or her special guest. The decor is elegant but homey and relaxing. I love the Christmas decorations. They are so tasteful yet festive. I look forward each year to seeing the gingerboat sailboat in the lobby. It's such a fun tradition.

Room was clean and pleasant, partial beach view, quiet and great bed. I must say I am not too fond of the new decor, though. A limey green accent wall and ugly new curtains. They should have stayed with the more elegant previous decor in my opinion. But I'm sure other people really like the decor. What matters is the service at this hotel, which is super. Each member of the staff makes you feel like a family member visiting their home. This is something special to this hotel that I love. Always a pleasure to come back to the Ritz Carlton Amelia Island!

Room Tip: A north tower room with a partial or full beach view is nice. Convenient to meeting rooms but still...

This was our second stay here. The first stay was exceptional and this stay was even better. Everything is top notch, the rooms, the furnishings and the grounds. Staff and service are both outstanding and Salt restaurant is world class

I stayed in this hotel for the second time due to a conference I was attending. Frankly, I don't think I could afford to stay there as a "real" person unless there was special. It is a truly wonderful hotel, top class with service and rooms. It is very quiet, the staff are friendly and remember your name, the rooms are posh and comfortable. The spa is very relaxing and tranquil and the staff was marvelous. They had specials at the spa so the prices were affordable. There is only valet parking, so be aware of the $17 per day charge. I lost a scarf while at the hotel and the staff at the front desk tracked it down and found it for me. The ocean is right out the back door and the pools looked inviting. It was truly a great experience to stay there.

Room Tip: I asked for a room on a high floor and I had a coastal view of the ocean. It was lovely and very qui...

This is what every hotel experience should be--lovely setting, peaceful rooms, good food & great service. Just had a long weekend runaway with some friends and the stay was perfect in every aspect. The spa was tranquil and relaxing-- the services a value for the money. Room service was good and the people were anxious to meet our expectations. This wasn't my first visit and won't be my last!
