We dined here on vacation July 2012. The exterior looks a little worn. The food is just ok. They up charge you for everything. My son was charged $2 for a piece of cheese on a chicken sandwich, fifty cents for extra sauce for the wrap, etc. The service was not great. Definitely would pick lots of other places before I would go back.

After a day on the beach, one of my favorite places to land is at the Surf. Great atmosphere out on the deck provides a great dining experience. There's usually music and the food is always good!

I vacation in Fernandina Beach every year, and my family always makes a point to eat at The Surf. Our favorite thing about The Surf is the atmosphere. We love sitting on the deck and listening to the DJ or musician. This also keeps the kids entertained. This restaurant also has good specials, so it's possible to eat well without breaking the bank.

I dined here June22, 2012 with 5 nieces/nephew ages 4-12 and we all had a great meal with good music and fast attentive service. We were staying at the condos across the street so we could look out to see how many guest were waiting before we walked over. We had the wings for appetizers & the kids devoured them. The youngest 2 kids had the childs corndogs/fries which they enjoyed (both had leftovers). I had a platter meal with fish, crab cake, & shrimp baked potato & coleslaw, 2 oldest nieces had blackened mahi mahi & shrimp po boy. They split them & shared so they both had double treats, & another child had chicken fingers fries cole slaw. I thought the crabcake was delicious, the coleslaw was a hit & I shared some. 4 of us had leftovers & everyone was pleased except that we didnt order dessert. There is a dance floor where children were dancing & having a good time. The one man band talked to the kids with me & played songs for them (Sweet home alabama) in honor of their visit from Bama. I would reccommend this place & wanted to dine there again on my own but they were closed. Call for hours.
