“Heaven on an earthly island!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

It is truly a revitalizing experience to visit Fernandina Beach, and to stay at The Addison. Bob and Shannon make your stay so comfortable. The rooms are so lovely they're hard to leave. The breakfasts are filling enough, and the tastes so memorable, you don't need to eat again until dinner! And of course their signature happy hour is well worth the price of admission. Fellow guests become friends. And both Bob and Shannon have such great stories to tell about their previous lives before becoming innkeepers. It's hard to leave for dinner.
My husband and I are repeat offenders, as Bob likes to say, because The Addison is a place to cant wait to revisit.

We celebrated our first year anniversary at the Addison. Bob and Shannon were very nice and very accommodating. It's location was easy to find. Our room was beautifully decorated, very comfortable and was as advertised. The food was hot and delicious. We will definitely be coming back again.

I stayed 5 wonderful nights at the Addison. The Inn/B&B is absolutely beautiful, the grounds and landscaping are a delight and so well maintained. My room was charming and so comfortable. The service was exceptional and Bob and Shannon ( Inn keepers) are very warm & friendly and truly know how to make their guests feel comfortable. The breakfasts each morning were delicious, sitting on the deck eating and listening to the water running in the fountain was oh so peaceful and relaxing. The adorable town of Fernandina is only 1 block away with lovely shops and a variety of great restaurants, a fudge shop and yummy ice cream shops too! The Inn has bikes available, and I enjoyed riding all around the town and to the beach. My stay was perfect and I plan on returning and bringing some family in future visits.
Thank you Bob, Shannon, Lee and staff for a truly enjoyable and relaxing time at the Addison,

Our first visit to the Addison was terrific, from beginning to end. Everything is top-notch: spacious, clean and well appointed rooms; delicious (and varied) breakfasts; a delightful happy hour; and friendly service from Bob and Shannon. Even the beach chairs, umbrella, and towels were first-rate! The location is perfect: within the historic district, and therefore walkably close to restaurants and shops, but far enough east that it's easy to head out to Ft. Clinch or the beach. It's far and away one of the best B&B experiences we've had.

Room Tip: We were in Room 4, in the original house, and liked it very much. Even with guests on either side...

We spent 5 nights at the Addison on Amelia over the Memorial Day Weekend and had a wonderful time. The location of the Addison is perfect. This is the ultimate Bed and Breakfast. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfasts were fabulous. The attention to detail was phenomenal. Everything was clean, there were snacks and drinks available, and great homemade cookies 24/7. Happy hour was delightful with delicious treats and generously poured wine and beer. Bob and Shannon are gracious hosts always ready with a recommendation for whatever you may need. The fact that they supply all the beach equipment that you could want and bikes for touring the area is a huge plus. We especially enjoyed spending time on our balcony, in comfortable wicker chairs, reading, relaxing and enjoying the cooling ocean breeze. This is a great place to unwind.

This was our first visit to the Addison and Fernandina Beach. What a truly wonderful and memorable stay and experience! We stay in b&b's whenever we can and the Addison is right at the top in our opinion! We had excellently prepared and delicious breakfasts and evening snacks! Bob and Shannon were such gracious and accommodating hosts and so friendly and enjoyable to talk with. They had so much information to share on dining and places to see and things to do. We plan to return when we visit again in Florida! Thank you Bob and Shannon!

This was the perfect place for our Manager's meeting with fourteen people. Located in the heart of Old Fernandina it is the perfect environment for a private business meeting away from distractions. All of the restaurants that we used for our lunches and dinners were within walking distance eliminating the need for arranging transportation. The service from the Tidball Family the Innkeepers) was superb. They handled the meeting room setup, breakfast, snacks during breaks and the most important thing Happy Hour. If given the chance we would hold all of our meetings here.
