“It's getting there.”

This wasn't always an Omni property. The Amelia Island Plantation and been in decline and Omni has swooped in to pick up the pieces. The location is superb and the grounds are well kept. The staff as with any Omni property are extremely friendly and always helpful. The guest rooms are a little dated but I'm sure that Omni has that on the list. Make sure you join Omni's Select Guest loyalty program. It won't cost you anything and gives you free in room wi-fi and 2 free non alcoholic beverages delivered to your room each morning. Room service is prompt. If you are thinking of using the cabanas on the beach, you'll want to reserve those ahead of time. They go fast in the summer months. The lower pool does get a bit crowded. If you don't have any children with you, try the upper pool. Less hustle and bustle for sure. This place would have definitely gotten better ratings had the rooms been updated.

Room Tip: You might want to be nearest the end of each building. The traffic to and from the elevator can get...

I went here on my honeymoon back in August 2014. I was only there for 2 nights (my original stay was for 3 nights). I will explain why I left early...
The hotel was beautiful. The pool was a great size. The beach was very close and clean. There were many places to eat.

There were no excursions or exciting things to do. My husband and I being 21 & 22, there were no lounges, bars, or clubs that were on the property. If we wanted one, we'd have to drive over 30 minutes away from the Resort. The resort is geared for rich families. Plan and simple. There wasn't any free food anywhere. So we had to pay for every meal. In only two days, we probably dished out $200 in 4 meals...we had to skip dinner in order to afford to eat!

It was raining the days we went (not their fault) but it certaintly made me want to leave early, seeing that there was nothing else to do.

The room was gorgeous. Gorgeous view. Very comfortable bed. The furniture was very chic. Really wish they had a hot-tub option for honeymooners.

I wish they had like a game lounge... or an arcade.... something fun to do for a college-aged couple.

If you have children and are willing to pay $100-$150 a day for food. Then this is the place to be. It is SUPER relaxing and a great getaway.

Excellent resort with so much to do or just to relax. Great for family fun as well as a couples get away. Try the Veranda for dinner...the food and service were amazing. Ask for Ray. He is full of information and suggestions to make your dinner delightful.

Everything was great we felt very welcome and had no issues. The food was really good and they were always prompt with service. We also loved the pool area and the beach. I will not hesitate to go back in the future.

My family has been coming to Amelia Island and staying at the Amelia Island Plantation for years. We enjoy the beautiful sunsets, the courteous and highly respectable staff. we have always rented beach cruisers from a vendor not located on the plantation property. This year the vendor had informed us of a surcharge that the Omni is imposing on off site vendors per day for every bike on their property that is not rented from Amelia Wheels. Not to mention the two different hold harmless agreements. This vendor has always taken care of my family, we can call them for anything from directions, to places to eat, activities for my young children. As a small business owner myself this vendor adds value to these rental properties and the community of this beautiful island. I am aghast to how this big corporation has targeted this vendor. In the future my family, and numerous friends will be staying at Summer Beach Resort Rentals. Seriously disappointed how a large corporation would do this to a small business in a small community.

While I was not able to do much because of work, the resort is very nice and clean. The view of the water was nice to see. The staff was very friendly. I did not take advantage of the restaurant but the food served at the conference was spectacular. Kudos to their chefs.

Just completed my third stay within a year at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort attending their (and my) second annual Fish to Fork culinary weekend (#FishtoFork). I absolutely love this resort! It has beautiful ocean front rooms and suites, meticulously maintained and lush grounds, large pool deck, great service, fabulous restaurants, friendly staff, a spa, nature center--I could go on and on. I've stayed twice in an ocean front room with a balcony and once in one of suites--both were beautifully appointed, comfortable, and clean. In November 2014, I thoroughly enjoyed a birding tour with a naturalist from the resort's nature center. I love the fact that the resort is spread out over a large area, with paved paths winding through a tree-covered canopy with views of the golf course, and access to miles of beach right from the back of the resort. Managing Director Donald Stamets, Chef Daven Wardiyski, PR Manager Allison Powers, Sales Director Andrew Lott and the rest of the staff make this resort extremely special! Can't wait for my next stay.
