“Fun Trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

We were lucky to have the airboat to ourselves and our captain, Wesley. He was very congenial and friendly. He showed us some green heron, alligators and a family of raccoons. We zipped in and out of the mangroves. Our captain showed us interesting sights and gave us an education about the area and its fishing industry. We had an absolutely grand time!

“Like every other review, this place is awesome!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

Did not actually book this trip straight through this company. My girlfriend booked a tour in another city in FL which had this part of their tour. I never really payed attention to who actually gave us the boat tour, so i google mapped who the company was so I could give the review they deserved. Also , we took the tour in March 2012.

As for my review, this place is amazing! I am so mad I can not remember my captains name, but he was great. He was very informative the whole ride. He stopped and gave us info on everything we encountered, gave us time to take pics and would show us what to take pics of.

These boats are packing the power with 350ci Chevy motors and they go fast ! Our captain kicked it down full speed quite often for us, it was an amazing feeling with the wind in our face. He would also joke around with us and see how close we could come to the over hanging branches of the mangrove trees we zipped by.

Along the trip, we encountered plenty of birds. We also got word of a gator hanging around our area so the captain brought us over there. As we approached another boat was sitting by the gator. During the time waiting for a closer look our captain pulled off to the side and whistled and hollered for a raccoon. And wouldnt you know, a raccoon comes out. He pulled out a water bottled and started feeding him the water!!!!! Unreal !......I got to feed it as well.

Once we were done with the raccoon we went over to the gator. The gator came right up to our boat and our captain reached down and did a little trick to grab the gator. I must say we all were a little spooked, seeing as our captain had an arm that was mauled really bad by a gator many years back. But no harm done this time.

After that , we headed back to the dock. Along the way a manatee came up for air and scooted right back down.

Totch's also has a cool little gift shop with reasonably priced goods. You can hold a 3 year old gator and take a picture with your own camera for free ( some places charge you for that).

This trip was worth every penny, i will do this more than once. Be sure to leave your captain a good tip if he does a good job...they deserve it.

“We had a great time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2013

Really fun trip! We saw plenty of wildlife, osprey, raccoons, gator, pelicans, stingray, etc. and Jerry D. made the effort to seek/point them out for us. Love the mini-history lesson on Totch's Island, may have to read the book. My favorite part was really zipping along through the mangroves on the high-speed boat ride, big fun on a beautiful day. I thought Jerry was great, answered all questions, gave us some great tips for the rest of our afternoon in the Everglades City area, helped us handle the little gators for photos after the ride. (Thanks ~ great stone crab at City Seafood and yes, we found the "piles of gators" ten minutes away!) Loved it.

You can opt for 30, 60 or 90 minutes. No matter what, it's going to be a bad hair day! ;-)

“Shame”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

What a shame! Had Captain Potter stopped the airboat from time to time and given some information about what we were seeing and about the history of the Everglades this would have been an excellent trip. When asked questions he answered them and obviously knew much about the environment but he seemed unwilling to share his knowledge unless prompted.

“Fun Time, but was Hoping for More”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

A group of us ventured south to Everglades City for the Everglades Airboat Tour. The tour was about an hour long. Captain Brown did a fine job. He was very knowledgeable of the Everglades, the wildlife, environment, etc...We saw an alligator, a family of raccoon, all kinds of birds, crabs, and a couple of manatees in the channel. At no time did we feel unsafe or in danger. The boats are very stable and safe for children or the elderly. My only complaint was the lack of speed. I was hoping for a faster boat ride or maybe an open water, high speed portion of the tour. There was none. That is my fault for having the wrong expectations. The tour itself is described correctly.
