“You won't find Swamp Thing here!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2011

No you won't find Swamp Thing out here-- You'll find Swamp Hospitality. Very cute, very Floridian, and very relaxing after you just left the hustle and bustle of New York City. Met a lot of European travelers here, even joined another group and made some international friends!
Now a lil bit about the place....
Staff: Front desk staff, VERY helpful and accommodating. They didn't charge us extra when we had more people than we originally booked for. They even made sure we had extra towels which was a nice surprise. I didn't feel nickel and dimed here. Think Starwood service meets boutique hotel presence and all on budget friendly prices!
Location: Just ask the front desk and they'll plan everything for you. They live here and know the best places to go. Close to where you want to be.
We had originally made plans to go kayaking but when missed our reservation, the front desk staff rebooked us---since they knew the kayak company, they helped us out, no charge.
BONUS: While I was staying here, we noticed a guest with disabilities The housekeeping and front desk staff made sure they carried their bags for them, and even refused the tip!!!
Final thoughts... I felt treated well here, and I will definitely come back when I want to get away from honking horns and the concrete jungle. I'll put some pics up as soon as I load them from my camera!

We (a group of 5 with one handicapped friend) stayd for two nights. After caling for reservation, they stayed in contact for infos and questions. They helped us organizing a kayak tour. Their support is heavily appreciated. The rooms (19 - 21) were in a superclean condition. The size of the room is big, the beds are okay. But the aircondtion is quite a bit loud. That's the only negative point. The handicapped room is well equipped, the wheelchair can move without a problem.

Room Tip: Just call and ask! We paid 89 USD per room

My husband and I live in Florida, but had never been to the Everglades. This motel was perfectly located, extremely clean, recently updated and the service was very friendly. We were not expecting to find such a gem deep in the Everglades, but we found one! The service in the main office was professional and guided us to the tourist spots and great places to eat.

Room Tip: Book early during Winter/Spring.

My wife and I have stayed here a couple of times and we love it. If you are looking for a place that you can stay comfortably with great service, good prices and centrally located , then this is the place to be. The owner is was really friendly and told us things to do and where the best activities were. The rooms are super comfortable and they are really clean. The bathrooms were amazing, not that I usually care about a bathroom and shower, but this bathroom and shower were nicer than ours(which is really nice). We travel a lot and will keep coming back here.

Good trip advisor reviews sent us here, staff on phone and check-in were pleasant and efficient. Room neat and tiled as promised, but there were deer flies and a couple of horse flies in our room that kept showing up on ceiling and windows. Worst complaint was paper thin walls, I could hear the snoring of the guy in the next room, their boom box or someone's at midnight, and then every word of their conversation in the morning as they woke up and we tried to sleep in. My husband even said bless you when she sneezed. Second biggest complaint was the horrible off-gassing smell of the stuff they mop the floors with, which by the way I saw the maids in the morning dump directly in the storm sewer in the parking lot. Everglades smeverglades, how can management not be aware of this environmentally harmful behavior? Stench of the stuff reminded me of the overwhelming cleaning smell of old rental cars that smokers have been stinking up and management can't de-stink. Mattresses and pillows what you would expect in a non-chain motel--not very good. Towels, hot water, water pressure, kitchenette, all very nice, to end on a positive note. Everyone at bars and restaurants say this is by far the best place in town, so what are you gonna do?

This little motel, old Floriday style, was a nice surprise. It has been well renovated, is clean, comfortable, and all around very pleasant. Glad we stayed there. I'll keep it on my list of places to go back to in the area.

this was our second stay here, last time was a few years ago, the bathrooms have been modernised and what a difference, the rooms are clean and comfortable so just what we were looking for. This Motel is an ideal place to stay when visiting Everglades City.
