“A Small Gem of a Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2011

My husband and I live in Florida, but had never been to the Everglades. This motel was perfectly located, extremely clean, recently updated and the service was very friendly. We were not expecting to find such a gem deep in the Everglades, but we found one! The service in the main office was professional and guided us to the tourist spots and great places to eat.

Room Tip: Book early during Winter/Spring.

My wife and I have stayed here a couple of times and we love it. If you are looking for a place that you can stay comfortably with great service, good prices and centrally located , then this is the place to be. The owner is was really friendly and told us things to do and where the best activities were. The rooms are super comfortable and they are really clean. The bathrooms were amazing, not that I usually care about a bathroom and shower, but this bathroom and shower were nicer than ours(which is really nice). We travel a lot and will keep coming back here.

Good trip advisor reviews sent us here, staff on phone and check-in were pleasant and efficient. Room neat and tiled as promised, but there were deer flies and a couple of horse flies in our room that kept showing up on ceiling and windows. Worst complaint was paper thin walls, I could hear the snoring of the guy in the next room, their boom box or someone's at midnight, and then every word of their conversation in the morning as they woke up and we tried to sleep in. My husband even said bless you when she sneezed. Second biggest complaint was the horrible off-gassing smell of the stuff they mop the floors with, which by the way I saw the maids in the morning dump directly in the storm sewer in the parking lot. Everglades smeverglades, how can management not be aware of this environmentally harmful behavior? Stench of the stuff reminded me of the overwhelming cleaning smell of old rental cars that smokers have been stinking up and management can't de-stink. Mattresses and pillows what you would expect in a non-chain motel--not very good. Towels, hot water, water pressure, kitchenette, all very nice, to end on a positive note. Everyone at bars and restaurants say this is by far the best place in town, so what are you gonna do?

This little motel, old Floriday style, was a nice surprise. It has been well renovated, is clean, comfortable, and all around very pleasant. Glad we stayed there. I'll keep it on my list of places to go back to in the area.

this was our second stay here, last time was a few years ago, the bathrooms have been modernised and what a difference, the rooms are clean and comfortable so just what we were looking for. This Motel is an ideal place to stay when visiting Everglades City.

Recently spent one night here with family and friends. Rooms (we had 3) were clean, and spacious and included a table, fridge, microwave and sink area. (Bring your own dishes and cutlery if you plan to eat here) The bathroom was wonderful but no place to hang your towel or clothing. The flooring is tile throughout the room and they were completely mopped between guests. If you are looking for a luxury hotel keep looking. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay while visiting the Everglades/ Ten Thousand Islands area you have found it.

We stayed here for an overnight stop on a motorcycle trip with friends returning from Key West back to Sarasota. We were greated by a very friendly front desk person and check in was fast. Our rooms looked to be recently updated with tile floors and a marble and tile bathroom. We had a vessel style sink in the bathroom. Everything was new and very clean. Each room has a micro-fridge, table and chairs.

Next door is the Island Cafe which has good food, we had dinner and breakfast and both were good, the breakfast burrito is very good and good size. You can walk to airboat rides and to another restaurant nearby.

If I lived in Florida, this would be a fun place to go for an overnight or a day or 2 getaway.
