“Romantic atmosphere, great location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013

The restaurant is centrally located on East Magnolia Avenue. Had a great table right by the window - it was "Light up Eustis" night so there was plenty of people watching to do. Seemed to be a server/wait staff issue, as the host was also the server and busser. Mediocre tasting food for the price.

“Favorite Restaurant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2013

Café Gianni is our favorite Italian restaurant. Actually, it is our favorite restaurant in general! If we decide to eat out, this is where we go. No other restaurant can compare with the atmosphere, experience, cost, uniqueness, and most importantly…the authentic Italian cuisine! Out of 5 stars, I give Café Gianni 6 stars.

The atmosphere is understated romance, not overdone. The lighting is perfect at night and the room is filled with touches of Italy. The restaurant works great for small parties, large parties, and is family-friendly. It is kept very clean including restrooms. Also, special events such as wine tastings and cooking classes are offered. My husband and I have attended two of the wine tasting events. Each of the four courses prepared by the superb chef is paired with a different wine. There is an oenophilist to discuss the pairings and history of each wine.

The food is truly authentic Italian, at a reasonable cost, and is brought to you in a sensible time period. It leaves you feeling satisfied and eager for your next visit to try another dish. No matter what you order from the menu, I assure you that it will be excellent. Chef Gianni uses the freshest ingredients, sometimes even shipping them from Italy. One of my favorite entrees is the Saccettini Pasta: Pursed shaped pasta stuffed with four different Italian cheeses & fresh pears sautéed with a shrimp and a wine cream sauce. It is simply to die for! My husband’s favorite is the Penne alla Forestale: Prosciutto, mushrooms, roasted peppers and wine reduction with a touch of cream. He has ordered it numerous times! My 2-year-old daughter is a huge fan as well. She repeatedly requests “Gianni’s noodles with alfredo.” Meat lovers will be impressed with the Pork Ossobuco: Pork shank, slowly cooked, “no knife needed” served over rice. Lastly, the tiramisu made with real mascarpone cheese will be the best you have ever tasted!

What makes Café Gianni unique are the seasonal dishes. For example, this fall we had pumpkin-filled and butternut squash filled raviolis. Also, the tangerine sorbet dessert was so refreshing! The only way I can think to describe how the service treats you at this restaurant is “like family.” They want you to enjoy your dining experience even more than you do! Chef Gianni, himself, will almost always come out to greet you as well.

Give Café Gianni a try! It will soon be you and your family’s favorite restaurant too!

“Simply the Best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2013

Cafe Gianni is a gem nestled in downtown Eustis. The food is outstanding. Portions are large and food is made to order. Very fresh and flavorful. I look forward to visiting again.

“Improve salad and soups and get back rolls with dinner and Entrees are good at least .”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

Four of us ate there tonight. Salad was fair, and instead of those wonderful garlic knots rolls, we were, no kidding, given white bread toast triangles. Awful. The soup was awful too, so watery. The veal Marsala and three pasta dishes were very good. We had one glass of wine with dinner and the cost was $70 per couple. We expected better. Our server was a nice young girl who tried her best, but offered little information about menu choices. Gianni was on a cruise, but he was friendly and helpful when we were there in the past. We will go back one more time, and the rolls better come back too.

“Italian star in Central Florida”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

I last ate here a year ago but still remember it and plan to return (in spite of the recent spate of negative reviews). After noticing that it was the only upscale eatery in town, we planned to take a few family members there for our mother's 95th birthday lunch. We discovered that Gianni's didn't serve lunch that day and of course were disappointed to learn that only their pizza shop was open. The boss insisted on opening the main restaurant just for us and offering us the dinner menu. We found everything about it outstanding...original and creative Italian dishes, served elegantly. maybe they've had some bad days since, but I wouldn't hesitate to return.
