When my GF decided that it would be nice to go out for a casual Christmas dinner, i figured the pickings would be slim by the time we got around to looking. Of all the options, the diamond in the rough was Ruth's Chris at Coconut Point in Estero. As a side note, the entire mall at Coconut Point was shut down, so you would not have known the restaurant was even open because the mall was shrouded in darkness otherwise.
Anyhow, dinner was quite good. I had the *sizzling* blue crab cakes which were delicious and the Cowboy Ribeye which was cooked to a perfect med-rare. My GF opted for the barbecue shrimp app and the 3LB Maine Lobster...and loved both. Previous reviews are spot on about price point. This restaurant is not for value driven diners. That said, the service was timely and professional; the wine list complete with something for every taste and budget. The deserts were only so-so but that did not spoil the evening at all. I would go back to RC again... One more thing...Ruth's Chris LOVES butter....it's on everything but the table linen...so be prepared...or better still, have your steak without it if youre so inclined.
