I live a few miles from the Lock n Key and eat there on a regular basis. Have never, ever, had a bad meal. The prime rib just cannot be beat. The pork chops are just incredible. The Lock n Key salad is a great light meal, but it will fill you up.
Service is always top notch, and the roving bus people that bothered one reviewer impress me. They do not let you want for anything. If you are anywhere near the area stop and try this place. You will not be disappointed.

We stayed in Manasota Key every summer all summer and & the OYSTERS ROCKEFELLER here are some of the best on the planet. Almost always delicious, and a great price. I miss them like crazy. Another favorite is the Conch Fritters , which we get with the spicy key west jelly on the side (it doesn't come with this you have to ask, but it's perfect with the fritters)
The entrees are very well priced and tasty. Service is the only slow ( slow, but not rude or anything) point, but hey you're in Florida & there is a nice view of the Gulf from almost everywhere in the restaurant, to keep you occupied. The interior is slightly dated , but at nighttime is filled with tons of beautiful white twinkly lights. We love this. We ate there, or got take-out at least once a week-

Nothing fancy, but definitely go in and give it a try. Besides if you're on the key, it's one of your only choices :)

We love the prime rib! It is HUGE and excellent taste. Always roasted to perfection! We would like to see mashed potatoes on the menu. The baked potatoes are never cooked enough. We wish they would invest in real bread. The rolls seem to come in a bag from Sam's and we do not like them. The busboys are extremely annoying and over numbered. Every time I set down my fork for a second, they would try to take my plate! They wander around constantly (three of them, when one would do) acting like vultures. It made us very nervous. The prepared food is very good. The chicken with macadamia nuts, garlic and lime juice was very good, but way too much lime juice. Eat dinner first and then stroll on the gulf beach across the street!

My father-in-law "lives" at the LockNKey every chance he gets Jan.thru March. We ALWAYS go with him to eat dinner when we stay the week, (usually 3-4 times in the week). Love it everytime. Great seafood, steak, chicken, kids food. Airy, comfortable atmosphere. Can get a little loud at times (probably because everyone's talking about how good the food is!). Stop in and see for yourself!
