The Stump Pass Grill in Englewood, Florida, can be a little difficult to find. But, you can go up on the internet at www.stumppassgrille.com to get directions. It's a small, grass shack environment at the water's edge looking out over Lemon Bay, with a tiki bar and grill. What makes this little restaurant quite interesting is the fact that it is located at the Stump Pass Marina, a facility that includes a small bait and tackle shop. The boat slip adjacent to the shop is kept open so that people can buy a package of frozen shrimp, have the staff quickly thaw them in a bucket, and let you toss them one at a time to the large fish hiding beneath the surface just waiting for a shrimp to hit the water. Great fun watching big snook and redfish in particular rushing for the meal. For those of you from the north country, the snook will remind you of northern pike.... a lot of teeth, hit and run preditor. Great spot to relax and look out over the water....always a pleasure.
