We had not visited in a couple of years, and they have moved into new quarters further south on Placida Road. All we can say is WOW.
This is much larger than the original location, is very well decorated, and the food has grown up to being a really serious contender for gourmet food. Pure New Orleans and the Cajun Country. Gumbo as an appetizer was “Spot On”, Crawfish came with three different dipping sauces, Zesty, Hot Fanny, and Voodoo. I went for Voodoo and it was pleasantly hot for a southern tongue, but might be too much folks that are not used to Cajun food. In addition, they brought four bottled hot sauces “just in case”. Main courses at our table were Jambalaya (mild), Red Snapper with a wonderful sauce, and two Crawfish Etouffee orders, one mild and one Hot Fanny.
Service was friendly, quick, and efficient. Deserts were scrumptious. Bread pudding with a bourbon sauce was to die for, and the Crème Brule’ was perfect.
Not cheap on the bill, but not extravagant either. Dinner for two with cocktails, appetizers, main course, and desert at about a hundred, and well worth it!
