“A place you drive bye and say you always want to stop, will stop”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

That is the way we were. We finally stopped on a Saturday afternoon. We were not super hungry but we wanted to try the food and get a cold drink. We decided to order the fried fish with French fries. The fish they use is cod. While not the best of fish, it was good. Very moist and the batter was very good. The beer was surprisingly cold and cheap. If you're looking for a/c don't come here but they do have a lot of fans and a covered area. So if you're thinking should I stop by, yes give it a try.

“Dissapointed Local”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

We have visiting the Sandbar for 15 years now and have never had an issue. Went for dinner this evening and wow what a disappointment. Our server served our food to a different table (no big deal) then the owners wife accused us of causing the problem and demanded my husband eat a burger that was meant for another table. In addition to that, they double charged us for the food that we did not get served and talked about us loudly when we disputed the charge. The beer might be cheap but the food sucks! Not to mention the owners yell at the staff in front of the customers and the servers bring the drama to the table. Happy Frenchy's has moved in! Never again Sandbar!

“Our favorite local restaurant! :D”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

We live about 3 minutes in a car or 9 minutes on a bike away from the Sandbar. We LOVE this place!! If you are a foodie and want 5 Star food and service, go to the Chart House. If you want the best sweet potato fries in town and an awesome hogie or burger with the friendliest wait staff in Palm Harbor, go here! It pains me when we see newbies come to the Sandbar just to eat all of their food then complain about the piece of cheese that was forgotten. The have $1.25 ice cold beers and the best smoked turkey hogie around. The laid back atmosphere, good service and great food keep us coming back every weekend...I can't recommend this place enough....unless you are uptight and needy. If that is the case...go elswhere.

“A locals favorite, but...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

This tiny café (behind the Mobile Station at Alt 19 & Curlew) has been here for many years. It specializes in burgers, hotdogs, and smoked pork/chicken on weekends. It is open till 10pm every night, and most nights there is live music after 5:30pm. There are tables outside on the deck and also hightops inside a plastic enclosed "dining room" and stools at the bar. They have ice cream and beer specials (no liquor). Dress code is extremely casual (bathing suits, etc ok). Seems that it is always busy, mostly with locals who use it as a meeting place to share a few beers.
The owners, Maddie & Roy, are friendly and so are the other staff. They start smoking the beef early on weekend mornings. The pork loin sandwiches were heaped with lots of meat, a little dry but good BBQ sauce and fresh buns.

Warning: lots of flies and mosquitoes even on the inside!

Smoked BBQ plates are $10-$12, but sandwiches are about $7-9.

“Bar Food OK, Owners Not”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

This is a local bar and hot dog joint that the owners like to frequent to "show they care."
Their caring is drinking tons of white wine (the wife Maddie) and tons of beer (her husbband)
The bartender is so overworked and stressed out. She must deal with the issues with the owners by working out and being all buffed out..
We have gone there many times and met and made friends with the waitresses who literally cry at our table about how they are treated.

How fun is that? Not.

The food sucks.

The only good thing is they have TVs all around and the buff waitress will make sure your pitcher is always full.

I saw today that they had a big banner for Spring Break and they are probably getting business selling their cheap crappy food and stupid bands.
