We last stayed here 9 years ago when we spent 3 consecutive New Years at Hawks Cay - quite a trip from the UK. I cannot say it has improved but nevertheless we had a good time. Our first disappointment was the new rule that kids are not allowed to fish off the jetties, this was a big plus last time we visited, perhaps they could install a fishing pier somewhere. The second disapointment was having to ask for our rooms to be cleaned in the late afternoon, they should be done by noon. The third disapointment was the New Year gala dinner - it used to be a lot better! The fourth disapointment was the general level of service, some staff could hardly speak English and others didn't seem to care about the guests. This meant meals were wrongly served and there were far too few staff to look after a full hotel, the delays were often intolerable. It's a let down for the many staff who were trying hard to please. The fifth disapointment was the availability of beds around the family pool, perhaps at busy times they could open up the 'adults only' pool to families. The final disapointment was the amount of refurbishment work that started after New Year eg family pool closed, numerous tennis courts closed - it became a construction site! Having said all that we had a great time in the Keys and the tennis coach and some of the fishing Captains were excellent - but we wouldn't stay at HC again.
