Had a wonderful time at Hawks. While driving down from West Palm Beach wasn't a far trip
for us, just coming in from the airport there from mpls, the valet opened my door and welcomed me. In fact everytime we used our car, they were there to take my keys and say
welcome home. We stayed in the hotel. Our car was parked, our bags were brought to our room. Everyday our room was made and at night our bed was turned down for us. We stayed for a week. It was very kid friendly. So if your going here to get away from it all for a couples romantic get away... you might want to make sure your room is over looking the tranquility pool as it is set aside for those over twenty one. At night there is local singers entertaining the crowd that gathers around the fire pit. I get a kick out of the people that complained about this place. I didn't want to stay out in the sun as long as the rest of my family so I spent some time in the lobby relaxing in the overstuffed wicker chairs reading the local papers. I witnessed several childish trantrums by several adults at the front desk.
Most were peole trying to get upgraded for free. The usual type.
All seemed to be handled as best they could with a full hotel at Spring Break time.
In fact I moved more outdoors to the sofa at the front of the property as people pulled in and the valets greeted everyone. I was asked twice if I wanted or needed anything.
Were there issues? Sure. There was some trim loose on one of the walls. To some people that would have been the end of the world. You know the type, can't be pleased. Do watch out and keep track of your room keys. They can be used to purchase anything on the property and if the kids have access, you could be looking at a very expensive surprise. We found the drinks and food to be expensive on property. Toms Habor House saw most of our business. Happy hour 4-6 and then 9-?. Also at Toms peel and eat shrimp were .50each and Conch Fritters were .35each at the earlier happy hour time. Drinks were cheaper.
There is a tram that takes you around the property if not interested in walking. But watch out at night, the driver takes his job seriously and there is no horseplay of his tram rides. We saw several kids trying to jump on/off while moving. Good to know people still care about safety. We had a great time and didn't want to leave. Are you hiring? Would love to come back.
