Had a wonderful time at Hawks. While driving down from West Palm Beach wasn't a far trip
for us, just coming in from the airport there from mpls, the valet opened my door and welcomed me. In fact everytime we used our car, they were there to take my keys and say
welcome home. We stayed in the hotel. Our car was parked, our bags were brought to our room. Everyday our room was made and at night our bed was turned down for us. We stayed for a week. It was very kid friendly. So if your going here to get away from it all for a couples romantic get away... you might want to make sure your room is over looking the tranquility pool as it is set aside for those over twenty one. At night there is local singers entertaining the crowd that gathers around the fire pit. I get a kick out of the people that complained about this place. I didn't want to stay out in the sun as long as the rest of my family so I spent some time in the lobby relaxing in the overstuffed wicker chairs reading the local papers. I witnessed several childish trantrums by several adults at the front desk.
Most were peole trying to get upgraded for free. The usual type.
All seemed to be handled as best they could with a full hotel at Spring Break time.
In fact I moved more outdoors to the sofa at the front of the property as people pulled in and the valets greeted everyone. I was asked twice if I wanted or needed anything.
Were there issues? Sure. There was some trim loose on one of the walls. To some people that would have been the end of the world. You know the type, can't be pleased. Do watch out and keep track of your room keys. They can be used to purchase anything on the property and if the kids have access, you could be looking at a very expensive surprise. We found the drinks and food to be expensive on property. Toms Habor House saw most of our business. Happy hour 4-6 and then 9-?. Also at Toms peel and eat shrimp were .50each and Conch Fritters were .35each at the earlier happy hour time. Drinks were cheaper.
There is a tram that takes you around the property if not interested in walking. But watch out at night, the driver takes his job seriously and there is no horseplay of his tram rides. We saw several kids trying to jump on/off while moving. Good to know people still care about safety. We had a great time and didn't want to leave. Are you hiring? Would love to come back.

We were trying to decide to stay between here and Waldorf in Key West. We decided to stay here for 10 days because it was closer to other day time activities being mid-Keys and it looked like there was more to do for teenagers at the resort. We went for a sunset village two bedroom/2 bath villa to have more sitting room and liked not having to buy 3 meals everyday.

Once we arrived the unit was clean but it is SMALL. the 2 twin beds touch each other and have to be gotten on from the bottom of the bed. 18 inch walk way to a bathroom the size you would find on a sail boat. (see photos) When we called to ask if there were larger units we were rudely told resort sold out. When we called in the morning to ask again, this time because the highway noise was so loud we again were greated with a rude response " no one has ever said the highway was issue" (see photo below) and you will see it is not hard to imagine you can hear it. I'm not on vacation to make things up! Looking over water is nice from porch and balcony

The main hotel pool and Lagoon is wonderful but so busy at 10:30am that we had to wait 30 min to grab some solo lounge chairs and put them near each other another 30 to get a waiter another 30 for drinks to arrive. We have not gone back. We did find two other great pools that we use all the time and not so crowded, but you have to get pool towels from hotel pool as they don't supply them at smaller pools! But relaxing and Enjoyable

Mini golf needs a renovation no extra charge but it is clear hurricanes have damaged significantly

We found Tom's Restaurant okay for easy food and prices not bad. Main resort restaurant very expensive and a limited menu. Thankful for being able to cook in villa and car to go to other restaurants in the keys

Snorkel trip great activity from the marina. I did find Waverunner price high and called my American Express Platinum Card Concierge to locate other options for us. She found Pier 68 just up the road $79/hour VS resort $149/hour. Kids had a blast. Dolphin Research Center just down road excellent alternative to resort dolphins (see my review of DRC)

Having wifi throughout the resort a wonderful feature I wish more places would do.

warm weather put a smile on our face and is a main reason we came south. We have a few more days to do this:)

We stayed here here on our honeymoon. It is a beautiful resort with a great and friendly staff. We loved the Tranquility pool which is a no kid zone but there was a great pool for families. They keep the resort updated and clean. I can't say again how impressed I was by the friendliness of the staff.

Just got back from Hawks CAy and it was great! The resort is beautiful with great landscaping and well maintained. We stayed in the Sunset Villas and looked out over the water with a two bedroom townhouse which was well maintained. Highly recommned this place!

Went there on spring break with my family and two other families. We had 3 generations there, all of us had equally good times. My kids (7 & 9) were totally enamoured with the lagoon and spent a lot of time on the kayaks ($10/half hour). There were also a lot of different lagoon side & pool side activites (relay races, water balloon tosses, paddleboard races, etc.) that were free to participate in. My kids loved these activities as well. The adults were big fans of pool sevices that kept the cold drinks coming. A nice little feature is the dolphin pool on the property. We didn't sign up for any dophin activities (a little pricey in my opinion) but you can view the dolphins at any time and it was fun to watch them play throughout the day. View from pool/lagoon is nothing short of spectacular. Fun for all!

Hawks Cay truly is a paradise within a paradise. Perfectly located half-way between Key Largo and Key West, it offers the most relaxing atmosphere we have ever experienced. The staff was genuinely interested in our well-being and not once did we run into fellow guests that seemed unhappy!

This is an amazing resort. Was perfect for a couple and young baby (19 months). We stayed in a great 2 bedroom unit in the Sunset area overlooking the water. It was peaceful by our unit with a great view and sunset. Our unit was perfect. Two floors, great kitchen and lovely deck for eating. The resort has lots to do with our daughter. There were many pools, a fun beach area and the pirate pool. Bike rentals were cheap and fun for a short ride. The dolphins were wonderful to watch each day. I had read mixed reviews but we really loved it!
